Joel Coming Back for Senior Season

Great news. His staying really changes the perception on next year. Pretty sure Pinson will be back also. Bradley is the question, though I would think most would agree that he will really help himself by coming back for another year. Kenny comes back after being hurt, and one figures that a healthy Seventh Woods will be greatly improved. Add in some positive impact from recruits and it appears that we get right back to having a legitimate shot at the whole thing again.

About a half dozen mock drafts that I checked out today all have Tony in early 2nd round, but that will likely change so Who knows. Selfishly, I'd love to have him back but wish him the best whichever way he decides.

One surprising in the mocks I saw, was that JJ was projected very late 1st round in 3-4 of them; literally only a few spots from slipping to second round. I think the highest one had him at 16, which is more of where I thought he would go - just outside the lottery picks to early 20's.

We couldn't have received better news. Theo will be back, I think there's very little doubt about that. And if Tony holds off hiring an agent until after his workouts, IOW if he hasn't already made up his mind, I think he'll return as well. That would make us FF contenders for the 3rd year in a row.

Mark, the problem I fear with Tony is that he will impress the evaluators so much that his stock is going to rise and that enough to go mid-late 1st round. Tony is going to make his mark in the combines.

Yeah that is very likely. I don't feel like he'll be back but selfishly hope he does return.

That's the elephant in the room. I think he will grade out very well in the combine. If so, he could be gone.

The pairings at the 1 & 2 are looking interesting. Looking forward to a great senior season JBII!
Go Heels!

I agree with you @BillyL ... in a vacuum, TB has CRAZY good skills. But there is also a good chance he's told "you have a huge NBA career ahead of you ... if you'll spend one more season under Roy and Co. you will get big time guaranteed money in the 2018-19 draft."

I honestly think JJ will be gone by pick 14. I also think OKC or a team like Memphis won't let him pass them.

Absolutely fantastic news! Woohoo, I already can't wait for next season.

Now come on back Tony, Theo, and whoever else wants to play into early April.

Wooooooo. The more I look at next years team , I realize that we can be an awesome run and gun team that Roy loves to have. May those new bigs run baby run all summer. Great news and maybe more to come.

I feel WAAAAAAAAY better about our outlook for next season now! People can slant things any way they like, and do. My slant is this - The Big Dog declared he was coming back so early to Set The Tone and Lead The Way for the other 2 guys. JB showing Senior Leadership skills already! C'Mon Pinson, C'mon Tony - You KNOW you don't want to miss next season! You Know it!

Best news I could have hoped for! It is very interesting that he jumped out of the draft so quickly (and seemed to declare very late and with reluctance). Senior leadership and love for UNC on full display. Poised to be one of the all time greats at UNC!
