If it was yours to trade would you trade it all and give it to last years team? I have to say 100% without a doubt would trade it even if we couldn't have made the tournament this year. JMO!

I'd make that trade and I'm not even sure why.

Brings up another question. If UNC wins it last year do they win it this year too?

Yes I would've. Marcus deserved a championship more than possibly any Tar Heel hooper in history.

I'd probably take the trade. I'm still kind of in shock that we won last night because of how poorly we played and how horrendous the officiating was. Thankfully, Gonzaga played equally as bad, particularly in the second half, but, it just doesn't feel as gratifying as winning last year probably would have.

Heck, any National Championship is still worth it, though.

The game was allowed to become very physical, something Gonzaga probably thought was to their advantage. The refs then decided to rein it in and the second half was a foul fest. Both teams were in foul trouble, and more could have been called. It was that ugly. Neither team could make FT's, they missed 9 and we missed 11. But they shot 42% from long distance and we shot 15%. Either team could have won.

Please don't downplay what this team accomplished. It refutes definitively the notion that Roy can't win without a team of superstars. Only 6 coaches have won 3 or more titles, he is now among the elite.

Nope.... Last year's team didn't earn it, this team did.

I loved last years team but they couldn't get over the hump and win the game. It was a hard and long year but no way would I take away what this year's team accomplished. The games were ugly, the offense was offensive but at the end of 40 games they are the last team standing. I have been watching and rooting for the Heels since 1968 and there have been way more seasons that end with a loss than not. It is okay to feel the pain of the kids that fall short but at the end of the day, the celebration for a championship is what this is about. Don't take anything away from 16-17 team. Just be happy they are all Heels.

I wouldn't trade this year's title for one last year. No specific reason other than this compilation of young men made magic happen. My heart breaks for Marcus and Brice though!

If it were up to me, I'd make a few extra rings for Marcus, Brice and Joel James. I think those 3 had as much to do with this team winning as anyone. But I wouldn't trade the championships.

I agree, in a way Marcus and Brice, maybe Joel James, were a big part of this team in so much motivation came from the heart break ending of the season before. When the game was on the line in the last 4 games, they reached back to that feeling at the end of last years natty and bowed up, maned up, refused to let it go that way again. No one was happier with last night than Marcus and Brice !

Nope. Am on campus this year whereas last tear a as just watching in NYC as a new fan. Went to every home gane I could this year (12) and watched the big road games on Franklin. It's been an unforgettable experience.
