Justin invited to combine, Kennedy not

The ones you named were good when they got here..Felton,Lawson,mccants, were tops at their position!!..the rest looked better because of more pt..but not drastically better..for everyone you named even before their injuries ..their games looked the exact same!!..didn't take a genius to see that Felton,Lawson, mccants were going to be good!!..facts!!

If you say you didn't see any significant improvement in Felton, Lawson, and even Berry I believe you are just trying to stir the pot. No basketball fan can be that blind.

NCAA mess aside..why haven't we gotten any elite guards before this..who was the last?..recruits see what's going on too!!

I guess two mediocre years after that can make one forget..and no,I don't have nothing against kids coming back...all because I said JJ should go?..you guys want these kids to come back to school, particularly the guards and wings..but which of these players under the Roy Williams era showed drastic improvements?..Danny green?..that's it?..there's no doubt about what he does with the bigs..but our guards and wings stay the same or take a step back!!..the verdict is still out on berry!!

You have lost your flippin mind.

Elite guards have not been the problem, elite big men now yeah but guards we have been getting. marcus, Joel berry consistently was rated one of the 3 best PGs in his class and most said it was he or Jones for the top spot among PGs, nate was highly respected coming in, 7th and BRob are highly respected coming in.

Who are these elite guards that we are not getting? John Wall was not getting past our admissions nor was Bledsoe, Dennis Smith now actually seems like a nut case with his tweets about how he don't need anyone else he can do it on his own. We have got a solid number of the guards Roy has really gone hard for, it is big men we have missed on.

So if you are already good, you can't get better? Your comment just doesn't make sense to me. Maybe I'm missing something.

!!..the rest looked better because of more pt

Which is why you look at the per 40 stats. It takes that into account.

There is so much fail in this thread. I'm embarrassed for visiting fans to come to this board and read this thread.

- Marcus Paige was never a first round draft pick. Never. And I guarantee that Marcus would not agree with anyone that said it was a bad decision to come back to school.

- Brice clearly helped his stock coming back.

- JJ is a borderline first round talent.

- Anyone that says Felton, Lawson and Berry didn't improved over the course of their careers is either completely devoid of basketball knowledge or being argumentative for the sake of being argumentative.

- Not every college basketball player thinks about getting to the NBA as fast as they can. Hell, some probably don't think about the NBA at all. More should not think about the NBA at all.

Marcus is not a prototypical NBA guard. He doesn't have the size/strength to play the 2 and doesn't have the speed/quickness to play the 1. What he does have, is the heart of a lion. And those intangibles go a long way with some NBA coaches and GMs. He needs a situation like McAdoo or Danny. Go back and read articles about why Popovich gave Danny Green a chance...because he knew how to play by playing for Carolina, because he played for Roy, and because he was a winner. All things you could say about Marcus. I doubt he'll be drafted, but he'll find his niche with a team in the league.

I completely agree with all of that. I think Marcus will play NBA ball and he might exceed our expectations. But with that said, he's really not draftable and certainly not so as a first rounder. I like that you mentioned the Spurs because I think Marcus fits their team well - smart, coachable, shoots the 3, plays defense, runs well off screens, etc.

There are times on the internet when I read posts and wonder.......

a- is the poster taking too much medication.
b- is the poster not taking enough medication.
c- is the poster taking the wrong medications.
d- is the poster taking someone else's medications.

I don't think Paige gets drafted but you never know in the 2nd round. As I've said before, my feeling is that he'll be back on our bench really soon, and I think he may well choose that path over playing abroad.

Edit: While it would be cool for the kid and school to see him drafted, I think he's better off signing post draft with a team that see's a better potential fit than somebody just taking a flyer in the 2nd round.

Or is the poster illegally self medicating ! LOL

UNC is known for players showing immense improvement from their freshman to sophomore years, especially guards! Statements to the contrary are just plain foolish. Every measurable and important stat improved for Lawson, Felton, McCants, Ellington, Green, Bullock, Butter, JJ, and MP (until setback by injury.) You will see the same in KW next year.

Why does every thread have to turn idiotic?

I don't get your anti-UNC agenda since you have Heel in your name, but I don't understand what "fan" even means anymore!

He will definitely be drafted..but not as high as he would've 2 years ago!!

First off you do not know that but more importantly, 2 yrs ago did his team play in the NCAAT game? Did marcus hit an amazing shot that almost won the game for his team, that showed he is willing an able to take and make big shots? Marcus is a better player than he was as a soph, he struggled to shoot this season but the rest of his game was very improved on his soph season and marcus was the unquestoned leader of his team and look where he lead them. To even suggest marcus is not the talent he was as a soph is a very strange thing to say.

IDK where or if marcus will be drafted, he is not getting any taller, he isn't going to get much bigger, he isn't going to add another 5" to his verticle, he isn't going to bench 300lbs for 30 reps. In other words the metrics that the NBA loves applied to marcus equally soph season as well as now. The NBA knows he can shoot, NBA knows he shows great leadership and is great in the locker room, they know he has strong work ethic, that should be enough to see him drafted, don't know where but maybe he is better off in the second round where he is not locked in to a contract for as long, that worked great for danny Green.

Speaking of Danny, remember when Danny tested the NBA water after his Jr season and folks laughed at it, TY, Tytler, Wayne were considered much more likely NBA players than Danny, howd that work out ...

worked out pretty good money
Wise..they all rich!!

Yeah..they all making millions..ask them if they're happy and I think we all know what the answer to that will be!!..can't argue about the ring he won..but their jobs are still paying real good!!..do you think Danny is having a better career or just in a better situation?..because while in Denver,Lawson was on the verge of being an all star ..the other guys I understand
