In all seriousness with JB it was probably the drop-off in offensive output after lighting it up earlier. What goes under-appreciated (even on here) is how much he puts into the defensive end of the floor, sometimes at the expense of his shooting legs. Again, the ACC is a big league with a lot of good players. That being said, JB is a better basketball player in every aspect than Mitchell.

A big CONGRATULATIONS going out to Mr. Jackson . . !

While I would have loved to see Joel make first team, I think it's going to be rare going forward that one team has two guys make first team, just because of how many teams there are in the conference. Last year we won the conference regular season and tournament, and Brice was the only Tar Heel on any of the three teams. There are a lot of players who made legitimate cases for inclusion, but there are only five slots. I was expecting four of the five who made it, and was kind of thinking it was a tossup between Collins and Smith, and Collins was the one who got it.

My ACC first team would be

Justin
Kennard
Collins
Donavan Mitchel
Micheal Young

2nd team

Ben Lammers
Meeks
Dennis Smith
Perrentes
Artis

ACC ROY - Tatum, followed by Isaacs, Dennis Smith, and the big O from GT.

ACC coach of the year, sorry but I would have to give it to Pastner with Roy as a close second. Just can't ignore what Pastner has done with that GT program this season.
After the duke game, I would have moved Joel up to 2nd team and dropped Artis down.

I can see why the voters may not have lined up for meeks but his value is much more than the stat sheet. Clearly, I didn't like Colson as much as many others and liked Micheal Young more than most.

Congrats to Justin, and look forward to seeing his Jersey hanging in the rafters of the DES!

Lets do more than just hang it, lets retire it! Could well happen and especially so if we can make a deep NCAAT run and kansas flames out early. I really think NPOY will come down to Mason and Justin and maybe Hart.

Congrats to an awesome young man who happens to be a dadgum fine bball player!

Perfect example of a True Tar Heel!

Congrats to JB and KM as well. Way to go guys and thanks for winning with class!

Congrats again JJ!

I was hoping for first team, but this is an awesome accomplishment!

I was thinking that maybe Kennard would win it by JUST A HAIR, but turns out it wasn't that close. :)

If you can be a NBA firs round selection and elect to come back, this is why you should. Now I am not sure if Justin would have been a first rounder in the last draft but when he tested the water he was told do some things and you are sure to be a first rounder.

You come back because you have more talent that needs to be developed, you are not at your ceiling (or your roof). Justin was considered a good jump shooter, he worked on it, got more arch on his shot, reduced the hesitation in taking his shot and is now considered a great shooter and a sure fire 1st rounder. Up to this season Justin was not considered a go to type of player, more a complimentary type of guy, like a 3rd option but not the primary option. That is no longer the case, he has now shown that step up ability that he had not shown up to this season and that will be worth MILLIONS for him. It is what I hoped JMM and JP would have done because they as well had much more to their games than they had shown, felt they should have come back and improved those needed areas.

Justin has made his case now, I actually think he could come back and improve his case even more but not sure he could improve his draft positioning enough to make it worth the risk so I fully support and would advise the kid to grab that golden ring at the end of this season and wish him luck in doing so!
