had a horrible game last night......or did he actually play very good??? We all know that he went 0-fer from the 3 point line but still ended up with 16 points, 4 boards,3 assists and 2 blocks...whole guarding NWG...and that is what makes him so valuable. I am sure everyone was frustrated that he could not get one to drop but through it all...he still kept playing..he still kept his head in the game...he still contributed! The value that Justin Jackson brings to the table is exactly this....most kids would have been moping around the court last night but this young man understands the value of continuing to play the game....while some on the board thought that maybe last nights game hurt JJ's value for the draft....I say that last nights game made him even more valuable to an NBA team! Sure glad that young man became a Heel....look forward to watching him have years of success in the NBA!!!

Just commented on this in another thread - I agree, he helped himself with his intangibles. Played good D, stayed in the game....his 3-pt shooting has been proven that it is "there," just needs continued mechanics discipline.

Honestly, when I sat down to do the stats last night, I was absolutely FLOORED when his stat line had him with 16 points! It was a very deceptive and sneaky 16. I think the 0-fer from 3 was a distractor, but still though....

He reminds me a little of Danny Green who could also stroke the outside shot and was a important piece of the puzzle to a championship. If Justin is lucky enough to get drafted by a decent team he more than likely will get a NBA ring.

Once he moved into the paint and thereabouts he was very effective. His outside shot was just way too rushed, I only saw him properly set about twice.

Just like with Monk in the Kentucky game, Jackson seemed to get a little heated with Williams-Goss. I loved see him get fired up like that. Once was after the and one with just under two minutes to go. I forget the other time it happened.

New Speaking of JJ coming back, improving, and gaining experience. How many remember his breakaway in last year's Villanova game at the end of the first half when his attempted layup was blocked from behind and fueled their comeback. Fast forward to this year's game. With 12 seconds left and a 3 point lead he had a breakaway and flushed it! Lesson learned! No chance for a block, game over!

He played a great game. His shot wasn't falling, probably due to nerves. He put up a workmanlike 16 points, 4 boards, 3 assists, 2 blocks, and a steal. He played fantastic defense. When we needed buckets in the end, he was there. Solid way to end his career at UNC.

Like many peeps , his shot was affected by the stupid football arena we played in! If a city does not have a basketball only arena suitable for the Champ game they should NOT get the freakin' game! JJ often shoots so quickly he appears to be not yet set, but he was really affected by the sight lines and the physical D.

I agree with others that this all around game, especially his D during the tourney run, will only enhance his draft status!

Cities get the game because of the football arenas. NCAA wants to pack 'em in.

I understand the money thing, but they also ought to figure out how to give shooters some depth perception then! I don't know how many tix they sold for the game, but there are some really big basketball arenas and there has to be a fix for the sight line problem. Spend a $ or two and give us better games!

Everyone(me included) seems to think Justin is gone , but I haven't heard anything from his camp , unless I missed something. Is it possible he is wrestling with his decision? Could it be the reason Knox is delaying his decision?

Justin has nothing to prove. Then again, neither did Hansbrough.

I don't expect him to return, but it would be awesome if he did.

Possible repeat?

Are there some records he could break if he came back?

TOS just reported that Justin just announced he is headed to NBA. The press release is coming.

Yep. Buckets makes it official.

He came in on a 2AD plan, but wisely returned for his Jr. season. --- absolutely correct decision.
Now he's answered the questions and is off to the NBA --- again, absolutely correct decision, and honestly one that was pretty much set in stone by Xmas.

Thank you, Justin for being part of that core '14 class, repping UNC well and being part of 2 fantastic runs and a Natty. Live long and prosper, young fella!

A TREMENDOUS young man, A credit to his family and to the Tar Heel program. Thanks Justin for all you did. I KNOW you will be a success at the NBA level. Best of luck and we all know you will be back many many times as a member of the family.

Thanks again Justin and GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Deserves every penny he will make. One of my favorites and he has absolutely earned the right to leave here early as a Tar Heel legend.

I tell you it is really nice to have a player come in and spend a few years at the university becoming part of the family...then you send them off to the pros and set them free.....they will always be part of the family though....several universities out there that really have no clue what this is about!!!! Their loss!!!!

Great move for jj. Dont understand where the berry stuff is coming from but anyone advising him to declare is a flaming moron. He wont get drafted. He wont make an nba team even. Huge huuuuuuuuuuuuuge mistake if true.

Agree it would be mistake to go in this particular draft, but I'd slow the roll on the last parts.

Congrats to JJ. He goes out a champion and as a Duke fan, I've never found a reason to dislike Jackson.
