Kennedy Meeks

The Hicks - Johnson tandem is so much more productive than any combo with Kennedy included, and I believe the numbers show it.
With Roy whittling down his players to just 8 seeing meaningful court time, I believe this team's rhythm will grow leaps and bounds.
Jackson seems to be playing with a fearlessness that resembles late season 2014-'15 . . Hunger Games Catching Fire roundball style . . ;)

Great game by many of our boys last night. Kudos to them all . .

word around chapel hill is that you decided months ago you would be leaving early for the nba. Why not go ahead and leave now? You have been an empty jersey for most of the year. Good luck getting drafted.

Despicable post - we are at a point that we are begging players to come to UNC because of this damn scandle and you call out a guy that's obviously hurt and just isn't playing well.

Re: his knee, it certainly seems so, Cory. Something's just not right and I can't figure it out, he's an enigma to me. Still hoping he will put it all together one day though. Despite all the talk of him leaving, when Roy gives him the pro scouting reports, I think he'll see the wisdom of returning. And despite what some of his harshest critics are saying, we really need him to return.

Hicks to me is just so much like Brice was last season, Brice was not able to stay on the floor last season, has improved that some for this season. Issiah needs to pick his battles, I think his focus wanders a little at times and especially on the defensive end. If ya gonna foul son, get your darn money's worth!

There will be a bunch of people eating a big portion of crow if Meeks does come back for his SENIOR year. These are the same people who for three years said Brice Johnson has no game, picks up way too many fouls, is soft as tissue, pouts, plays no defense, cannot rebound with the big boys but now that he is a walking talking double double machine those same people who complained he was a waste of a scholarship are no where to be found. I fully believe when he is a SENIOR like Brice did this year he will understand his role as a leader. Also he will be very helpful in showing incoming freshman Bradley the ropes and responsibilities of wearing the Carolina jersey.

Yeah, I'm still a big fan of Meeks. I think he is just still hampered more than anything. We need him going forward. Also, watch the video of the locker room celebration after State. He isn't 'checked out' at all.

Unfortunately, some of our fans put unrealistic expectations on our recruits as a matter of course. When they fail to meet those unrealistic expectations, they are "wasted scholarships." We hear this every year re: one or two of our players. I fully expect Kennedy to return and have a very productive senior year. I've seen it posted at various times this year alone re: James, Meeks, and Theo.

It's pitiful, really.

Meeks isn't as talented as Brice. And all those criticisms of inconsistency with Brice were warranted.

First, the critisms of Brice in past seasons was accurate proven by the fact that you now see what he was capable of, not sure how that is even a discussion point after how he is now playing?

With Meeks, if he is still injured OK, would really like to see Roy let us all know via a PC, would like to see some of the media at his post game PCs ask if Meeks is 100%. They constantly ask about Marcus shooting slump, why no questions about Meeks and possible injury?

All I know is what I see, I saw last season him go out in early Jan and just was never the same for the rest of last season. OK, so maybe he had some illness like mono or what ever but now this is a new season and the very same thing has now happened again. Played pretty well to start the season and goes out with a bone bruise for a couple weeks and comes back not nearly the same player yet again? is there something cronic going on, no one seems to be asking and Roy isn't offerring so all we are left with is what we see. Hard for me to buy back to back seasons with mono like play, if that is it then maybe he needs a new girl friend.

If Meeks is limited by injury or illness then pretty sure most of us would like to know that, we would not be nearly as upset as we are with no explaination offerred. I felt he began this season playing pretty well but Roy shared with us the bone bruise he missed a couple weeks with actually occurred prior to the first pre-season games? And Roy keeps on playing him and starting him, would think he would rest him as much as he could and only use him in emergency situations if he is injured. Not like last season with Marcus when we struggled to find jump shooters, every game was emergency for for Marcus last year not so much for meeks this year with the improved play of Hicks and James playing better. WE actually played some of our best ball when meeks was out earlier season.

What I see LOOKS like a guy just passing time till the end of the season as if he is waiting for it to end so he can enter a play for pay league. It is a bit like Clowney that played football for the game cocks, not really motivated to play hard that last season so he would not get hurt before he got to cash big time pay checks. Not saying that is the case with Meeks, not saying it ain't, I am saying it does not pass the look test for a player playing hard and working to be the best he can be right now and seems to fit more with no official offerring of injury or sickness...
