A couple of folks ask me to update them on the Keto diet, I'm too lazy to look back to see who. It's been about three weeks and I am down 12lbs and the wife is down 11 lbs. Actually feel pretty good. I quit Copenhagen the same time as we started this. Longest I have been without a dip in 38 years. Diet is much easier than I expected.

What exactly are you eating and at what time of day are you eating it? I need a full 7 day breakdown. TIA!

Also snuff was the hardest thing for me to ever quit.

Breakfast=>bacon(@coolwaterunc ), eggs, sausage
Snacks=>pork skins, jerky, beef sticks, cheese
Other meals=>any meat except battered meat like fried chicken, low carb vegetables like cabbage, spinach, cauliflower(smashed loaded cauliflower is the bomb).
Sauces like alfredo, texas pete are all good.
Fat is your friend=mayo, animal, butter, sour cream, heavy cream
20g of carbs per day

Started dipping at 12yo. 2+ cans per day. I will be 51 next month. I figured I spend btw $350-$400 per month.

My man! Congrats on all the weight loss and thanks for the detailed menu. How long do you plan on doing the Keto? And do you ever drink alcohol?

I'm going down 10 more lbs but will stay on Keto as long as the wife wants to. She has had 4 kids and has further to go than me. I don't drink as much as I was drinking but you can work beer into your carb macros. Most liquor is ok because most have no carbs but beware of mixers. I've been doing the Rum and Coke Zero thing.
It's really easier than you think. My biggest issue is that I love vegetables and you have to be careful which ones you eat.
Oh I did make a low carb New York Style cheesecake that was very good.

You're starting to sell me on this thing, seriously. Only three things concern me:

1.) I'm a sandwich nut. I'm obsessed with them.
2.) Fruit. Granny Smith apples are my shit.
3.) POTATOES

Those are problems.
1. No bread
2. Berries in moderation
3. Nope Although you need to try the smashed loaded cauliflower!

1.) I know, GFY.

2.) I like berries okay, but damn. Seriously though, Granny Smith apples are the greatest of God's creations, and I will fight anyone who disagrees. I'll douse them with lemon juice for extra tang. God, they're so good.

3.) Ugh, I guess. Dammit.

I didn’t go full KETO, but I have cut the carbs considerably and I am down almost 5 pounds in 2 weeks. Was convinced to cut the carbs when my cousins hubby went on the KETO diet after he was diagnosed with type II diabetes. He went full bore on the diet and started running. He has lost a ton of weight, getting below what he weighed in HS and has reversed his diabetes completely.

Potatoes are my biggest problem. I am a steak and potato man and love those dang spuds. That and a good bread. Everything else is no problem for me.

I downloaded an app from Under Armor to track what I eat and it links to the Apple app monitoring my exercise so I have monitored everything. I pings me for going over on my fats, which is normal on a KETO diet, but otherwise i am good. It helps me cut calories more than anything, which was my biggest issue

Steam a head of cauliflower. Smash it with butter, sour cream, cheese, bacon bits and a little green onion. You can thank me later.

I love every veggie out there . . smashed cauliflower is awesome(so is raw IMO) on the smashed, I will drizzle a little queso on it and it rocks, doesn't take much and it compliments it greatly.

Quitting that dip was the best thing you could do for yourself . . ! Congrats on that and the loss of those 12 lbs.

Keep it up, NCT . . I know firsthand it isn't easy, but, at least you have a companion doing the same diet . . that's gotta help.

Do you do any intermittent fasting w it? Say only eat between 11:00-7:00 and fast the other 16 hours?
Just started doing some this week. Like I won't eat after 6 and then skip breakfast the next day. I am probably doing it wrong but I kinda graze throughout the day. My only real meals are breakfast and supper. I keep Mac's pork skins, cheese and summer sausage around. They say once the body gets acclimated to burning fat as the main source of fuel hunger is no longer an issue.

Meant to tell you if you get down to Wayne Co. and close to Mt. Olive stop in at Rita's Place. It's my aunts restaurant. She's got great food(Country cooking). Open everyday breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I've gone thru Mt. Olive a lot on my way to Wilmington . . leaving the DC Metro area I'm usually in Goldsboro around 11:30 am, but, on the return trip I'm looking for a breakfast place and I like being on the road early if I'm traveling any distance.

Thanks for that info . . as I may make a run to Wilmington in late April or early May this year.

Paleo diet for the win. Similar to Keto but better. Best you’ll ever feel is if you can do the paleo diet for a few months.
