Kevin Knox latest Blog Entry

With Knox, I'd foresee a starting lineup like:

Berry
Pinson
Knox
Manley
Bradley

This is all assuming JJ leaves and Berry comes back.
If Manley is good enough to beat out Luke, I'll breathe easier. That won't be easy. Luke may not have the length and upside, but he has a good motor and bb IQ.

Yes as I said I think you could go small-slide Theo to the four and start Kenny. If Joel Berry is back then this becomes almost a no brainer to me.. Roy would have to think about changing his approach a bit but that small lineup could wreak havoc.
Yep. But how does that look to Knox? When he says he wants to play SF, I suspect he means he wants to be on the floor with 2 bigs. Moving Theo to the 4 lets Knox stay at the 3, but means Knox is one of the bigs on the floor. If that's what he's trying to avoid, then moving Theo to the 4 may not satisfy Knox's concerns.

Fortunately for us, Justin and Joel are both returning to get the 2018 championship, so when we don't get Knox (or Vanderbilt), we'll be fine.

Well him playing the 3 isnt necessarily meaning he wants to play with 2 bigs.. Does Dook use two bigs? And they are considered the leader for him. If anything I think that would give him more space to operate and that would be more attractive to him. Only problem I have w Roys offense sometimes is the lane gets clogged.

Anyways, I doubt Justin will be back but if he is obviously this is all moot. But I think we will need Knox.

I keep hearing that Knox does NOT want to play the 4.

How do the minutes get apportioned if he signs with us? With Justin gone and no Knox or Vanderbilt, Theo starts at SF. Right? I mean, who else?

But if Knox comes on board, does Theo stay at SG - making room for Knox BUT pushing Kenny, Brandon, Andrew and maybe others to the curb at SG?

We are told that Roy never promises starts or minutes. And we know that Roy leans toward starting seniors and experienced personnel - although he will start freshmen, and Knox is likely to be good enough out of the box to start.

So how do you see that playing out? And, perhaps more importantly, how does Knox see that playing out?

If Knox is at all scared of playing some time at the 4, then I highly doubt he commits to us. There's just no way he can look at our roster next year and say with certainty that he won't log minutes at the 4. Again, that's why I think Vanderbilt is better suited for us.

One thing in our favor is if Roy tells him he will not be required to play the 4; everyone knows you can trust him. Unlike other coaches, Roy has a reputation for telling recruits the truth and not just what he wants to hear! This would also be backed up by saying look at Henson; I played him where he wanted but he made his money when he went to the best position for him! We will do what is in YOUR best interest!

That's what I'm thinking, too. Either (or both!) would be great additions, but Vanderbilt may fit a little better.
