For everyone that keeps saying we lack size.. please name me Houston's big men (do not say the 6'11 dude as he's never played a single game yet).

Yes, we are smaller. So are they. But they WIN! What's the difference? Their guys are skilled and physical!! It's ok to be smaller! Lots of teams are smaller!

But please for the love of God can we for once put the blame on our staff and lack of talent and effort instead of saying we lack size 24/7???

Nobody had more size than us when we had Kessler, Bacot, Sharpe, and Brooks, but that team SUCKED!! Sometimes guys just don't mix well and aren't good together. Our current team is one of them! It's more effort and skill than it is lack of size. We have outrebounded plenty of teams and still lost. We just have zero basketball IQ, poor hands, and zero heart.

I agree with the premise that this team is soft. That other team you're referencing was partially doomed when Roy decided to start Garrison Brooks over Sharpe or Kessler. They wouldn't have been all that better because they had horrendous guard play. But there really isn't anything Garrison Brooks did better than Sharpe or Kessler other than miss 13 foot jumpers.

It's not a lack of size. It's mostly a lack of big man talent.

Lubin can't catch passes, and he can't play defense at all.

Washington is plenty tall and long. But he's extremely weak, and he can't play defense at all.

Claude is basically a poor man's Lubin. Smaller, worse hands, but he does try very hard.

Brown should be redshirting. He's a 3 star freshman who can't do anything except foul.

Withers is the only big on the roster with the talent to wear a UNC jersey (athleticism, good hands, good lateral movement on defense.) But he has the basketball IQ of a potato despite being in his 6th year of college. 99% of his games are him making 1 or 2 good plays, and then making a ton of dumb mistakes.

Houston teams win being smaller because A Kelvin Sampson team will always defend you strong and with physicality, his teams are filled with guys like Seth or Drake. Kelvin's team simply attack you on both end non-stop, they attack you 5 on 5 not 1 on 5.

I made the point on the gary thread, this UNC team is small but they allow a half court game, they do not jump shoot well, and they are not physical and they switch defensively even if they don't have to. Houston plays it players to allow them to play to their individual strength as opposed to forcing them to play to their individual weaknesses. Same thing I have been saying for 3yrs now.

Sorry, if anyone expects me to say Hubert is a great coach right now, I hate to disappoint ya. I don't think there has been ANYONE that has expressed not just that I disagree with many of Hubert's decisions and sharing exactly what it is that I disagree with as well as what I think he should do about it. But have been just as willing to say I agree with a decision he makes that I feel helps this team. Heck, ,my personal disagree with a Hubert decision to agree with is likely around 70% or more.

Ya know what the difference between me and those following the fire Hubert meme is, I am willing to consider why he has made the decisions as well as what can be done to fix the circumstances that may have led to those poor decisions. I don't think it is as simple as fire Hubert, the job of head coach of UNC basketball, or any head coach for any program simply can not be successfully done now like it was done even 5yrs ago.

Roy's last team, the one that had that Bacot, Brooks, Sharpe, Kessler front line had more of a guard problem than a front line problem. But the front line was in my view and I said it what had to be a few hundred times used way to much Brooks and not even close to enough Kessler, which is why Kessler transferred. I said many times, Roy had a blind spot for Brooks. Had we actually used the size advantage we had on that team it would have been much better. Kessler should have got the minutes Brooks got, exactly why Hubert went so hard trying to get Kessler to come back to UNC and in doing so it cost us Adioo, Hubert was right to go hard for Kessler.

Write this date down, I agree with Nate! LOL
