Earlier today, I went to the back of the rack and pulled out The Moody Blues ~ A Question of Balance . .

What say ye, OOTB music lovers . . ?

It's so rare that I listen to a full album. With iTunes, Pandora, Spotify, etc, I'm constantly mixing my listening. But with that said, over the last several months, I have rekindled my relationship with Bob Dylan. I recently listened to most of his album Blonde on Blonde. It's simply a masterpiece.

Two other Dylan albums that aren't quite as celebrated but I find myself listening too frequently are Infidels and Oh Mercy.

A rare album by The Moving Sidewalks. It was a band Billy Gibbons was in before ZZ Top.

Absolutely it counts . . ! It wasn't that long ago that it was holiday season.

Been cycling between "In the Silence" by Asgeir and "Pedestrian Verse" by Frightened Rabbit this week. The former is in English but the original Icelandic version is streaming on Soundcloud right now, so I listened to that last night.

I also mostly listen to some sort of shuffle or mix these days, but I listened to Let It Be by the Replacements the other day. Great album by a great band. The album title sums up their ethos perfectly: nothing is sacred.

Agreed on all counts. My college roommate listened to a lot of the Replacements, but I didn't acquire a taste until later in life.

I've recently listened to Battle Born from The Killers, Long Cold Winter from Cinderella, and The Wild Feathers (self-titled). I listened on my ipod but did listen to the entire album. I still have a ton of CDs downstairs but can't remember the last time I even looked through them.

Listening to The Nearness of Of You by Frank Sinatra on vinyl as I type this.

I just recently found a few of my old vinyl albums. I had forgotten I even had any.

The last full vinyl album I listened to was :
Badfinger_(album).jpg

I have this record and pulled it out after the finale of Breaking Bad.

If we're talking entire album, it's the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack. That soundtrack elevated the movie for me probably a half letter grade, not that it needed the help, but man, that is a great soundtrack.

Billy , I love his music and even bought his first album that he made after 30 yrs as a muslim. The music was different but I enjoyed it.

Umphrey's McGee - Similar Skin (bought it after hearing a few songs on Jam On SiriusXM station, Puppet String is a COOL tune...)

Yes - Fragile (I listened to this endlessly as a kid...still am in awe of Steve Howe)

Zep III is a great album, and one of my favorites . . !

If you haven't listened to The Devil Makes Three, then you're missing out, and frankly we can't be friends.
Hey friend, I'll give it a spin... if you listen to Led Zeppelin Three

You'll be pleasantly surprised. If you like traditional country and/or any rock tinged with bluegrass instruments, you will certainly like tracks 1, 2, 3. You'll obviously recognize track 5. It gets weaker toward the last 3-4 songs though for sure. The front of the album carries it though.

Upstairs at one of our Local coffee shops, they were spinning the Gap Band the other day....brought back some good memories!

Okay THN, so I listened to Do Wrong Right, and... It didnt' suck!

I actually enjoyed the album and have listened through it about 3 times now. I'm not a modern country fan, but since this was more of an alt-bluegrass (is that even a thing?) which was unique and they had pretty catchy tunes for the most part. I'll definitely listen to some of their other albums.

Been listening to one of my favs today . . . 'The Best of Van Morrison' . . 20 of his very best, but, minus 'Into The Mystic' . .

Van is the man... he's got some good stuff for sure.

I'm streaming some Warren Zevon today; his first two albums are really good.

Very nice. If you can believe it......The Devil Makes Three is from California!! LOL. I do consider "alt-bluegrass" a thing. There's definitely bands of today that use a lot of the same instruments and styles of traditional bluegrass......they just ditch the harsh, high-pitched vocals of traditional bluegrass and opt for a more "modern" sounding, deeper man's voice.

There was a group called The SteelDrivers who put out two albums with their original singer and they are FANTASTIC, especially the first one, which is self-titled and for some reason ain't on Spotify anymore. The second one, Reckless is also great (but not AS good) and is on Spotify. Their newest album has a different singer and sucks.

As for Led Zeppelin III...

Listened to the album at work. Took me a while because I had to keep starting and stopping. My overall thoughts: not as painful as I thought! Haha. I won't bum y'all out and list any negative things. I'll just list my positive opinions/observations:

The Immigrant Song -- decent
Friends -- pretty good instrumentals

Out on the Tiles & Gallows Pole -- I liked these two songs way more than anything else on the album. I can't really tell you why. I just did.

Bron-Y-Aur Stomp -- had a cool rhythm.

* Trying to put my finger on it, I think I liked the songs I did because the instrumentals were more front and center and the singer's voice was sorta more accompanying the music rather than leading the charge (if that makes sense). I'm sure this is some sort of classic rock heresy, but I don't like their singer's voice all that much, so yeah. Like I said though, I definitely did like Out On The Tiles and Gallows Pole.

THMark, as for The Devil Makes Three, they're one of those bands that churns out albums so I've found that I like 2-4 songs from each of their albums, instead of liking the entirety of an album, if that makes sense. Except for Do Wrong Right -- that's a really strong album.

Individual songs I'd recommend are "Old Number Seven" "Dynamite" "The Plank" "Tow" and of course, "North Carolina"
