I turned on the TV yesterday just in time to re-watch 'The Bucket List' . . . man o' man, that is such a great movie. I DVRed it because it wasn't on a commercial free channel. But, ended up watching it all the way through with the help of Mr. Royal . .

Just thought you'd wanna know . .

Watched "The Imitation Game" over the weekend. Mr. Royal wasn't able to make it (as he was hanging out with Billy), but I recall a few Natty's were in attendance.

Oh yeah.... I enjoyed the movie (3 out of 4 stars from me).

Mark,
Wifey and I saw it in the theater, I thoroughly enjoyed that movie and so did she. I though Benedict Cumberbatch was excellent . . can't wait to see it again.

Nothing better than some good family time, hanging with pops and LOLing probably did her a lot of good.

Wife and I are going to be in Wrightsville this upcoming wknd, please put a hold on that excellent weather forecast for me, HMW.

I had very low expectations but was quite surprised that St. Vincent w Bill Murray was pretty good.

We have Dish Network and occasionally get a free week or weekend of some movie channels like Starz, HBO, etc... When that happens, I DVR everything I think I may have even a little interest in watching. Well, I started knocking off a few DVR shows last week to free up space and I watched "The Watch," with Ben Stiller. It was OK, I guess.

Quantom of Solace, preceded by Casino Royale

I've been watching all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies over the last week or so leading up to Avengers: Age of Ultron on Friday. So the last movie I watched was Iron Man 3 proceeded by (in order of most recent) Avengers, Captain America, Thor, Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk, and Iron Man, but I'm watching Thor: The Dark World tonight (with Captain America: The Winter Soldier tomorrow and Guardians of the Galaxy on Thursday).

I thought this movie was great, one of my favorites from last year. Benedict Cumberbatch was awesome. This was probably my favorite "based on a true story" of last year's Oscar nominees.

Reactions: Raising Heel
Last movie I went to was Kingsman : The Secret Service, enjoyed it Samuel
Jackson is hilarious as the villain, especially after seeing him as Nick Fury.

I wanted to see Kingsman, but I guess I'll have to see it once it hits DVD. It looked like a fun movie, and I like other things that director has done.

Watched Stir Crazy last night. I forgot how great that movie is and how great the duo of Pryor and Wilder are.

Perusing Netflix and Amazon Prime over the weekend and watched...

A Million Ways to Die in the West - meh; a few funny bits/lines, but I barely laughed out loud. This movie would've been funnier with a more accomplished comedic actor than Seth McFarland in the lead role.

Behind Enemy Lines - Holy Crap! I watched about 15-20 minutes and couldn't take Owen Wilson any longer; dude is not a good actor anyway, but to listen to his monotone delivery in what is supposed to be a serious movie. C'mon Man.... ugh!

November Man - pretty good flick, IMO. Fairly straight-forward spy / action thriller with Pierce Brosnan. Even at 60, he was believable in this movie - It was entertaining, and probably on par with most Bond movies these days.

I watched Avengers: Age of Ultron twice this weekend. Awesome, awesome movie. If you liked the first one, you will absolutely like this one. Great action and really funny as well. This movie has something for everyone and everything you want from a summer blockbuster movie. I can't really say much else other than it was just terrific.

I liked it but I didn't love it.

I thought it had some funny parts so I would say I'm in agreement with this. As for THM's notion about McFarlane, all I can say is he wrote and directed it, so basically like anything else he's involved in, he's gonna star in it. I generally like McFarlane. When he's good, he's really good, but when he's bad it's just not enjoyable. I still watch Family Guy, but it doesn't compare to the first 4 or 5 seasons. Occasionally they knock one out, but the hits are few and far between. I have decent hopes for Ted 2, though. I thought the first one was very funny

Watched Auntie Mame the other night. I love that movie. If you haven't seen it, you should.

Interstellar was so so. Totally nonsensical plot. Awesome special effects though

Beyond the reach was very good. Big game hunter going for the ultimate game . Wife enjoyed the young guy running around in his undies most of the movie

Big Eyes was surprisingly good. Very interesting as its a true story and i remember that big eye art on hallmark cards and so on. Good to watch with the wife as well.

That's interesting. I absolutely loved Interstellar. While slow at times, the concept used playing on Einstein's Theory of Relativity makes you think.

Watched Exodus : Gods and Kings the other day. Pretty good as long as you're not looking for 100% Biblical accuracy.

Oh man, really solid movie there. "You gonna bark all day, little doggy?"

Grand Budapest Hotel--- pretty strange but I kind of enjoyed it. Of course I'm pretty strange so that makes since.
That's the last movie I saw that I can remember. Watched it on a plane last summer.

Whiplash, good movie. JK Simmons won the Oscar for Best Supporting. Enjoyed it, girl friend hated it, but what does she know ? At least it wasn't Animal House or Hangover again.

I thought Grand Budapest was great. I'm a Wes Anderson fan, and I thought this was one of his best. You definitely have to have a taste for his style, but I thought that it was just hilarious

I loved Whiplash. JK Simmons was mesmerizing. I was talking with someone this week who didn't like it, and I was really surprised that she didn't care for it. She was talking about how Simmons is basically the Devil, and I was like "Yeah, that's kind of the point!" I just thought this was a terrific movie. He absolutely deserved that Oscar. I was also very impressed with Miles Teller. Check this one out if you haven't already

Flags of Our Fathers, followed up with Letters From Iwo Jima.

My son heard about these two Clint Eastwood directed flicks from 2006 and wanted to see them. I remember watching Flags years ago, but never saw Letters. The first flick was good, but Letters From Iwo Jima was great. Very powerful movie. It really humanized the "enemy", to the point where you are pulling for those guys. Those young men were really all the same deep down. War is some shitty business, man.
