Just saw on inside Carolina that Late Night with Roy will be on Friday 27 September with doors opening at four with a girls volleyball game played prior to the basketball activities. This is s big weekend as UNC hosts Clemson at Kenan in football the next day. So 38 days after today and we will get our first REAL look at the roundball team...

There will be some recruits there that weekend. Hoping that the Heels can keep the game competitive against Clemson.

In the old days we had the Blue/White game, usually following a football game, and it was great to see them go at it.

Yup, those were good days! I like a few skits, but I really like the intros and then seeing both the Women and Men play a REAL scrimmage!

If you play a scrimmage I will let you "STAY on my lawn!"

I worked for a guy that was on his official football visit when Dick Crum was coach, he said everybody got up at half time and went to the basketball blue/white game. he said he knew right then Carolina was not for him. Huge man, ended up at Alabama.

Yup. Football used to be an afterthought. I believe we are approaching equal treatment these days and hope the Return of the Mac will complete the process!.

Win and they will come!

That win and they will come mantra isnt neccesarily true when mack was here part of the reason he left for texas was because of the attendance

Attendance wasn't an issue. He left because of things that happened behind the scenes.
It was indeed a part ofnthe issue but you are right he was pretty much told that they were gonna cut funding to football and so he went to a football school... all he wanted was equal treatment but he felt like he wasnt getting it here.

Not exactly, Blue/White games were never set to conflict with football. I went to a great many Blue/White games. The timing was set so that folks had about 1/2 hour between events to walk from Kenan to Carmichael or the Dean E. Smith Center.

I posted this once before but I worked for a man that was offered by Crum and was on his official visit and he was sitting at the football game and he said half the people got up and left at half time. Said he ask someone where everyone was going, they said to the blue-white basketball game. Said Carolina was not a football school, ended up at Alabama.

Out of all the Tar Heel alumni available to host LNWR, specifically former basketball players, this seems like such a reach with who was selected.

I’m guessing they were chosen because they’re extra woke. I’m sure they’ll make sure to get their political agenda out there. Glad I won’t be attending.

I've been to a few of these and I can say that being a basketball player doesn't automatically make you a good host. Some people should just stick to playing sports.

Welp, I googled the Harris girl and saw she’s a former Unc soccer player. Enough said when it said her “partner” was named Ali. Just my opinion but I’m not too far from quitting sports all together. Oh well.

While that may be true, you’ve got to look at it from a recruiting perspective. Ultimately this is one of the biggest recruiting events of the year.

Eh, I don't think the MC for LNWR is going to make an impact. If that's something that factors into a recruits decision, then we need to hire the playmate of the year and have her wear a UNC string bikini every year.

What difference does it make at all who the guest host are? I go every year to see the new players and returning players put on a show and to enjoy the Carolina expierence and atmosphere . Who the announcers are hosting the show makes absolutely ZERO DIFFERENCE...

Our best host ever for LNWR wasn't a former basketball player. It's always been more about entertainment for as long as I can remember - a short scrimmage and some skits. That's the way Roy wants it.

There's no reason to believe Brooke or Ashlyn will overly politicize the event. Both are Tar Heels. Brooke has experience and is comfortable speaking to a large audience. Ashlyn is the perfect co-host. I'm sure it'll be a huge success

Just the sports world in general. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that it takes A bat and A ball. Not two of each. Color me old fashion or just plain old conservative. And that is just fine with me.

Lol you’re clearly no rocket scientist.

Why on earth does it even matter? Live and let live dude. It has no bearing on your life or mine.

yet you attack him for his beliefs???

Don't even try to put this on me.

He can believe what he wants. But I'm vehemently disagreeing with it. The fact that one of our former female soccer players has a wife should have no bearing on earning our support and her ability to properly represent the University.

He's the one making it into a big deal.

And that is 100% YOUR opinion, and in MY opinion it clearly has bearing on my life and the world that I live in. This isn’t a religious or political board so, sorry for the detour everyone. Back too b ball
