Those that have been long time UNC BB fans would say those guys listed in the OP, should be re-numbered 2 thru 6.
It depends on the team around them. If you're asking me who I want as the point guard on a team with the greatest possible Carolina team of all time (let's just go with a hypothetical 2-5 lineup of PG, Jordan, Worthy, Jamison and Hansbrough), then I'd probably want Cota first choice, or Marshall second choice. But if you're just asking me to rank them in terms of who I think the best overall player is at the PG position, I'd go Lawson, Felton, Cota, Marshall, Phelps.
Other guys I liked to watch were King Rice, Jeff McInnis and Jeff Lebo. Don't forget that King Rice held the record for assist-to-turnover ratio in one season (2.72) in 1991 until Lawson beat it in 2009. It was always fun to watch the wars between Rice and Hurley. Rice really got under his skin and was a great defender. McGinnis was a tough kid and Lebo could really shoot the 3 and was one of the best fundamentally sound basketball players according to Dean.
