Looks like Baylor in the Russell Athletic Bowl

The problem is you have a NYDB game reserved for a non-Power 5 team (Houston this year) that should go to a Power 5 team "if" they are more deserving and I think we are.

FSU will fill the GA Dome. We barely fill Kenan.

what are you talking about? Lot of grads in that area. CLT right down the road. RDU right down the road, too. Many, many donors/season ticket holders got denied tickets to the ACC 'ship. Quit with your nonsense of trying to compare 12pm kickoffs against crap teams at home vs the Peach Bowl. Heels would fill it out their allotment, no question.

Exactly my sentiments.

I don't recall ever seeing a sold-out, capacity crowd at any home game during this all-time best season. We have a large fan base for sure.

It is completely irrelevant who could fill out the Ga Dome because it is no one's home field in college football. It's up to two schools to assist in filling it up and always will be along with corporate tickets. Only the Falcons need to worry about filling up the Ga Dome. Whatever our allotment of tickets are for that game we would sell out and then go to the open markets o get other tickets as well. "Book that" as fat guy Packers coach would say.

further your "FSU will fill the Georgia Dome" comment is false to begin with. They don't fill out their home stadium either.

Baylor has lost 3 QB's to injury this year but I don't know if any of the 3 will be ready by the game day.

We got denied because Clemson won their division two weeks earlier. And bought up all the tickets.

Dude, take a pill. I'm not saying UNC doesn't "deserve to be in" the Peach. They DO! They absolutely do. I'm saying that, just like the CFB playoffs kept us low and made sure we couldn't get in the final 4, it also has a similar effect on bowl selections.

If you really think UNC is a bigger college football draw than FSU, then I'm not sure it's worth debating. I love UNC, but I also know the reality that it's not as big of a draw. College football is about $M$O$N$E$Y$, honey.

FSU is going to be ranked ahead of us, and FSU has a W over UF that was almost as impressive as Bama's W over UF.

Of the 2 who were out at the start of yesterday's game, 1 of them may get to play in the bowl. The one hurt yesterday - I have no idea if he is out for the bowl. It looked to me that he had a concussion. If so, and nothing more, he should be ready for a bowl.

Plus, that WR who played QB did so cold. If he practices with the 1st team offense a good deal, he could be decent by the bowl.

I just hope the team bounces back from this loss emotionally and values whatever bowl we're in and goes out there and gets the job done. It's gotta be a huge let-down the way the Clemson game went.

you've changed the direction of your posting now. And a chill pill I don't need bc you were inaccurate in your original postings.

My advice is to better structure your postings. Course you'll see that as a slap in the face instead of constructive criticism.

The show is at 4 on the U. But I'm sure we will know our bowl destination before then. Via Twitter. Opps quoted the wrong thread!!!!!!

My direction has always been the same. These are done for the monetary draw they will bring. The Russell Athletic against Baylor is nothing to be ashamed of, dude.

This shouldn't have any bearing on bowl selections but we all know it does, Strum. Teams whose fans travel well will get precedence over otherwise equal teams with stagnant fan bases. Like most other things, follow the money to find out why something happens.

I agree. It should NOT have any bearing. I wish it didn't.

But, as I've said, College Football is a huge business. We've been watching the CFB Playoff Selection show and then the Gameday Final show and they even had stickers they were putting on helmets during the segment for the best championship performance. At the bottom of the screen it said "helmet stickers presented by Honda." All the bowl games are now preceded with their corporate sponsor. The Gator Bowl is now The Taxslayer Bowl. It's almost making me embarrassed to watch the stuff.

Why do they rank anyone outside the top 4 if they are just going to screw over teams. I can't wait until NCAA is destroyed by a corruption scandal the size of FIFA.

Just as well we are not in the Peach Bowl. Who the hell wants to play Houston in such a marquee game? Talk about lose/lose. Let Florida State go play that shit game ... and lose.

Have you guys seen the players reactions to playing in the Russell Athletic Bowl on Twitter? Bug, Ryan and 'Quise are beside themselves and clearly have no "want to" to go play in this bowl game. Can't say I blame them, but they better get their attitudes in a better place than where mine is at the moment.

I agree and am a little concerned we could be so deflated by the loss, we don't get up and go out there and win. The way the bowls are set up, this is the best we could do. The Peach bowl is worse because then we'd play Houston and who cares about that? I am disappointed with Notre Dame getting to play Ohio State in the Fiesta bowl rather than us but that was going to happen per the money anyway in this situation.

Baylor is better than Houston though, imo. We missed the playoffs because we lost and Clemson deserve it. Hope some explain all this to the team and how Baylor is a good team and this is a good bowl. Let's go out and win it.

Other than Ohio State and Notre Dame (who we can't play since they bracket with us), what other top teams would be better? I'd love to see us play Ole Miss but it's not set up to match against the SEC. TCU might be better but not tremendously so. OK State?

It's not a bad deal considering the way the bowls are set up. Fiesta would be best for an ACC team not in the playoff this year. Personally think we should be playing in it over Ohio State but Notre Dame just has 2 losses as well.

They damned well BETTER get some "want to." Get in there and win by 80 points. What bowl game were they expecting??? The Russell Athletic Bowl was/is reserved for the #2 ACC team. They're a Top 10 team playing a Top 20 team that was in the Top 10 themselves earlier in the season.

Not on twitter. Can you quote and share? Also tweet back Baylor is better than playing Houston. Just what sort of top teams outside the playoff would be great this year anyway?

Ohio State would be best but Notre Dame just has 2 losses as well. Matching up Ohio State with Notre Dame will draw a lot of the same regional fans even though the game is being played elsewhere.

happens every year, strum. Some schools feel they deserve better bowl slots. UNC deserved a better bowl slot rules or not. Kids know it and unlike you, me and the other guys here they have to still go and play. Flat City. Honestly, though, we do have a silver lining considering Baylor's QB is fifth string and he's their WR. So maybe it won't matter? It's a bummer for sure.
