Why does anyone have to defend people beating on racist neo-nazis and other supremacists? It's a shame more of those mogoloids didn't suffer injuries that resulted in sterilization.

Sometimes a shepherd needs to protect his flock from wolves
While said by a very smart poaster, it doesn't apply here. I don't care if it's the dang "Peace on Earth for all People" brigade marching in protest for something. It's never acceptable for a protest to rise to violence. Never. Both sides were to blame. And can someone explain where the F the police were??

I'll never shed a tear for neo-nazi trash getting bloodied, let alone killed. Sad you don't feel the same.

Is it safe to assume you feel like the BLM trash riling up violence deserve the same fate?
Yes and no. Anyone from BLM, Anitfa, or the alt left who went looking for a fight or started a fight deserve what they get. But there are good people in those groups who don't condone violence or the subjugation of entire races.

Conversely, the Nazis want to eradicate minorities and Jews. There is a difference and people forget that these punks are pure evil. Watch the Vice News special when they were in Charlottesville.

I never understood why they want to get rid of the Jews, especially when we have all these Baptists hanging around.

I've addressed this in another thread, but they basically stood down when fistfights broke out and then actually left when the state of emergency was declared. It should've never gotten as out of hand as it did.

I abhor violence. Much as I'd like to punch a Nazi, that's not the answer.

Supposedly, because of orders from the Mayor, the march was redirected off the original path and right into the lion's den - where the Antifa folks were. So you could argue that the city caused the melee.

The police statement was that the protesters were asked to enter from the back of the park, where the police had stationed their personnel, but they entered from all directions.

Could've sworn they were talking about entry but I'm not looking it up.

I'm sure the police were talking about the entry. But the issues arose with the exit - i.e. the protesters entering in the wrong fashion isn't what led to the violence, it was them being forced out through the throngs of counterprotesters by the police.

Lost in all the Charlottesville hoopla is now @Hark_The_Sound_2010's girlfriendwife is never gonna let them move down South now :(

I think I'm still in good shape on that front, for a few years from now. We're actually closing on a townhouse we're buying together tomorrow (ya, ya, I know - buying a place with someone you're not [yet] married to has the potential for disaster, don't @ me). But after showing her the types of houses we could get in NC for the price we're paying for a townhouse in MA, she's all in on moving down there in a few years. I guess she has no problem selling out her ideals for a couple extra bedrooms and bathrooms and a bigger yard.

That's the real American dream.

How much are you paying, if you don't mind me asking?

No, the issues arose with the entry when the protesters forced their way through the lines that the counter-protesters had established*. I watched it happen.

*Meaning both were in the wrong.

I wanna see everyone getting beat on.

Hey, it's still equality.
You'll probably get yours before I do.

But, in all seriousness, as long as people are content to see that, it will happen. Everyone of us has some Hitler and some Jesus in us. I look at the Holocaust as a lesson to the entire world that says, basically; "This is what you're all capable of if you're not careful." What one man can do, another can do, theoretically. Actually, I'm quoting Anthony Hopkins from "The Edge" when they killed the grizzly. But, I believe it to be true.

Spoken like a true Yankee. Making a sacrifice to live around a bunch of backwoods racist redneck with confederate statutes in their yards.

I hope you plan on taking a vacation this weekend @Hark_The_Sound_2010. Looks like it might get a little rowdy in Boston.

I was thinking about going in to laugh at the right wingers - but now that BLM (organizing a movement called "Fight supremacy") and Antifa will be showing up, I think I'll steer clear as this thing is clearly going to end badly. When someone gets killed, the media will condemn the right wing protest, no one will mention these other groups that are going there with violent intentions. I feel like we've seen this movie before...

Girl, please. He's in Salem with the witches. Nowhere near Bahston.

I live in Salem and work in Boston, granted I obviously won't be in the office over the weekend.

“While it is our intention to send a message to those who would subject marginalized communities to domestic white terrorism, hate speech, and violence, we also stand in opposition to the most insidious and deadly forms of white supremacy,” BLM Boston said in a statement. “These include, but are not limited to: mass incarceration, income inequality, anti-immigration initiatives, police and local law enforcement, and housing and employment discrimination.”

Welp.

Fortunately the police will still try their best to protect BLM on Saturday, despite the above comment condemning them.

Marty Walsh (Boston mayor) is shitting his pants because he knows that there's no way tomorrow goes unviolently. He's made it clear he would revoke the right to assemble and free speech for the group on Saturday if the courts didn't tell him he couldn't when he looked into it.

It's worth remembering that BLM arose after a series of incidents in which unarmed black people were killed by law enforcement. Still, their statement reads as a blanket denouncement of all law enforcement which of course is asinine.
