Frankly, this is a tough body blow to Ky, a Jr that came close to staying in the draft and pulls out on the last day only to announce he is transferring. On the heals of losing Bolden to duke Ky just got a lot smaller, a lot smaller. Unless Kal pulls a Allen out of the hat last minute and that does not look likely, this Ky team lacks front court depth and starter length.

Bam is big time talent but he is 6'9" and now it looks like he is their 5, Gabriel is maybe more a wing than a 4 and honestly I am not sold on SKJ, at least as a freshman. They got Briscoe back but looks like they have him pegged in as their wing. Looks like Ky is going to have to shoot big time from the outside because they are not going to punish a lot of teams inside the paint with that line up.
front court is much better than last season. Bam is a beast, Derek Willis can play stretch 4 and open the inside up. SKJ and Gabriel will be wait and see, Humphries should be much improved and Wynyard just won 3 on 3 tournament.

Bam is a beast for sure but he is a defending and rebounding beast, he is not that go to and can score any time guy, ya gonna be upset if you think he is a go to scoring machine right now. If ya tellin me your front court will be great because of Willis, Humphreys, and Wnyyynyyard then score me less than impressed. Your one natty under kalipari came from a high scoring center that controlled the defensive paint, Bam is a beast but he just ain't that guy that controls the paint himself. Duke won the natty relied on freshmen but Oakfor was a go to inside scorer and a big strong inside presence and got a lot of help from upper classmen that went un-recognized with outside shooting. IMO,unless Gabriel really blows up huge, IMO your mix is missing one very important piece, that other big man that allow Bam more room to operate, Bolden could have represented that but he is now a dukie.

Kal's teams are hard to take down when the have the size mismatch they can exploit and or inside physical strength scoring and rebounding. I don't see that with this version. Last season you guys benefitted from having 2 NBA PGs on the floor playing together that just happened to be great jump shooters as well and a weaker than even normal for the SEC league. I don't see a single top 5 pick, maybe not even a lotto pick on your team this season after their freshman seasons. Fox IMO is as close as you have and he will have to be sensational to be a lotto guy thou he does have really good length for the position, we will have to see how he is able to use it at this level. I* just don't see your back court nearly as tuff as it was last season and your front court is way over hyped.
