Pretty disappointed about this one. And he wasted no time once he got there either. Did the Wildcat Girls strike again? j/k, mostly.
I am pretty bummed about this one. He would have been so good under Roy's guidance. I wonder if "available minutes" was a deciding factor?

Damn!!..They must have had the $bag waiting as soon as he walked in!!.....this is exactly why I want to win it so bad this year...so we can throw it back in the face of all of the haters and kids who said no to the greatest university of all time !!

I hope we win it this year because next season will be a struggle depending on who stays/leaves.
As for Lauri, I could see all along that the visit schedule didn't make sense. Why visit a west school, come east and then back out West. It just didn't make sense unless he knew AZ was the favorite coming into the visits and wanted to save them for last with the possibilit he would commit on the visit. I think the nearly had his mind made up before the visits.
Very disappointed BUT life goes on and we gotta move on. Good luck to the young man and hope we beat him in the NCAA.
Make NO mistake Roy will keep working and the Heels will land at least one more big guy ............. who will be a VERY good player
I wonder if he visited UNC/Roy at his Dad's request? That is all I can figure.
I mentioned it on the other visit thread. It was an Itinerary that mad no sense at all.
You would think he would have enough respect for the other schools he visited to at least give the appearance that he had not already committed before he came. This shows major lack of respect for Ol'Roy and Utah! Maybe not a good fit for us after all!
I doubt that Lauri's dad would ever let his son be disrespectful to Roy.
Arizona had more immediate playing time available than either Utah or UNC could offer. It had absolutely nothing to do with respect or the lack of.
As far as the "playing time" I'm calling BS on that one. With Brice and James gone after we wrap up the NCAA title last I check we have 3 bigs plus 1 newbie. But to hell with him. I guess he didn't noticed that all the so call TOP bigs that go to Zona seem to never do much. It's like the graveyard U for bigs at Zona. IJS.
You're so right! But, really do you want someone who is not willing to fight and earn pt. We (UK) have the same concerns at times, and some fans make stupid excuses. The truth is that UK or UNC is not for everyone. The pieces have to fit and I won't blame someone for not wanting competing for pt against a 1st round NBA pick who decides to return for a Soph or Jr year. Currently we are hoping for Fox and Monk. What if Murray, Briscoe, and Ulis return (they all won't) .Do we need 5 elite guards........no?
At least go home and think about it, damn. I hope UNC beats the ass of all of these recruits that say NO!
247 sports is usually right on. Many unc insiders wereya Ingram done deal to unc and 247 has him going to Arizona for last 2 months and they have the same for woods to sc and it's actually increased in last week
Unc needs players. They lose 3 or 4 and no skilled players in this years class and so far mane just Bradley in next year
No they are not! Only 2 guys voted on the Lauri deal-many change their predictions at the last minute.
This one blows my mind, of course it now looks as if the kid already had his mind made up before he left Finland, this may have even been in the works since leaf decommitted from Arizona. Clearly it is either about PT or a promise to allow him to be a wing, maybe both.

Oh well, if he is not smart enough to understand the need to learn the game the way it is played in this country by a hall of fame head coach and feels better with Miller and all the national titles he has coached his teams to, then so be it time for us to move on.

You must don't really know about 247...because if you did,you wouldn't have ever made that statement!!
His Coach was pushing Utah.
I do believe that Sean Miller had all the right words for Lauri, give him credit that he made a nice sell and LM may have felt very comfortable with him and the 'Zona players.
We're still very much under that NCAA cloud and that weighs heavily on the minds of recruits.
Hey folks, get over it. Perhaps this will give the players more incentive to not take plays off during the season. Perhaps Roy will tighten up his rotation earlier than normal. The kid gave a UNC an OV which is much more than some of the other studs who just listed the Heels as window dressing. Perhaps Maye and Williams with drain some 3-point shots in the early going to give the competition more to think about. Get over it...Next!
Seems like a fine young man, wish him nothing but the best(unless we're playing 'Zona). It's pretty apparent he wants to play right away and that is the norm for special players these days. Disappointed but not all that surprised.

In the last week there is only one new pick for SoCar and that is from a Louisville guy. Very little activity since June. On Woods that is.
