@39 Feet Above Sea Level I have no knowledge about Willard or what he left behind at UMD. Anyone have insights to what makes his departure different than other coaches who change schools before their contract expires? Is it recruiting (or lack thereof) for next season?

Keelo, Willard chose the NCAA tourney stage to whine about the school’s obsession with football.
He complained about the AD’s departure to SMU and other issues.
He made it about himself, said he wasn’t leaving (Terp insiders knew he was going to Nova already
in mid-March), told his team before the FL game that he wasn’t leaving, and told his team
the same thing in the post-game locker room.
He quit the next day. He terribly disrespected those 15 young men.
