Media can shut up - Coastal > Atlantic

And telling someone to "settle the F down" is any different, just in what way?

Not nasty in any way, I posted a respectful, constructive criticism of a post which is embarrassing to be representative of a UNC fan. Particularly in light of an environment where my alma mater has been and is being slammed for academic improprieties. Maybe you 3 guys are just fans, I don't know....but the UNC brand and rep is important to me.

Upon that post I've been attacked personally, been told to "shut up", called a " politician", and worst, called a Wolpfack troll. All patently ridiculous and personal slams. Hypocritical, to boot.

And yes, UNC Blue, Fedora is not a good game coach. Good program builder, seems like a good guy, too. Good oof the field. But a terrible game manager. 6-1 doesn't change that, although it sets him up to shed/fix the issue. ALL OF WHICH I'VE CONSISTENTLY SAID SINCE I'VE BEEN HERE. I stand behind what I've posted, every word. Not averse to modifying my opinion when sufficient empirical evidence indicates it is time to do so.

Your tone is argumentative with just about everything you say. You did not post respectfully, or even tactfully, to champ. You belittled him by telling him the way he writes is embarrassing to UNC fans. Should we be embarrassed by fans of our school who may not put pen to paper as eloquently as our grads? I sure as hell hope not. I hope to never become that kind of snob regardless of what is happening.

And champ made his point just fine. Everyone seemed to understand it whether they agreed with it or not. You just thought you were showing him his place by knocking him down a few pegs. You failed. If you want people to take you seriously then try a little less of that kind of tone and just stick to talking football.

^^^ maybe I should have read the entire thread before posting,

Big game tonight and I hate saying things like this, but this is our "fork in the road game". I'm not teaching rocket science here, but if we can win on the road tonight - look out and sky's the limit this year in the Coastal. Lose tonight - and we might revert back to our old selves. Maybe that's hyperbole on both ends. But that's how I see it. Really anxious for kickoff and winning the Coastal Division. We've laid the foundation. Let's starting putting up walls.

Yeah you should. Right now I think UNC is only straching its surface. The defense will continue to improve, only issue I have is with the offensive play calling. Esp in the red zone. Stop passingso much and just run Hood down people's throat. Qb keeper is fine but stop with these passes. Offensive play calling is the #1 reason we struggled this year. Costed us a game and almost costed us against GT.

so how come u taking up for dook then or maybe it's just your sentence fragment makes no sense?????
"UNC is 3rd or 4th competing with dook". Did you mean UNC is competing for 3rd or 4th with dook? I don't expect perfect grammar on chat boards but you have to at least express your thought coherently. I also hate to inform you but everybody cares about the middle , top and bottom of the conference in only week 8 cause nothing is settled. Clemson better be worried about playing at moo this weekend. moo has a habit of pulling games "outta dey azz" and playing way over their heads at least one game a year. You better stop reading all the good press and play the games.

LOL settle down. He just think Duke is better right now, just his opinion. We'll know in 9 days. Man this thread is hostile. His shot at the Coastal in his first post was unnecessary though.
Although I prefer Clem to win , moo at moo could well be a trap game for Clem. Have you not noticed that every fanbase in the conference takes dook's side against us even though dook looks down their nose at all of them???

IDGAF what they think about Duke. I don't give two s***s about that phony Cutcliffe and his band of cheap-shotting players. They will return back to awfulness once Cut leaves.

what cost UNC in the first game was execution of the play called ... have to come out of the red zone with some points ... plain and simple.

I too think UNC is only just beginning to scratch the surface ..... and im not talking about this year ... the sleeping giant has awoken ... Recruiting has taken off and your team is playing up to its ability ... the UNC fans need to get out and fill the stands!

Couldn't agree more on running the football more than we are.

Moo hasn't pulled that upset people like to talk about since 2011 or 12. In other words, it's been awhile.

Can we just relax and discuss UNC Football? You have to admit that your tone can be overbearing, especially when you get on an anti-Fedora roll. Constructive criticism :)

That's fine by me, we've got a huge game tonight, and we are pulling for the same team. But honestly, you really can interpret TONE accurately on a msg. board? Regardless of the other guy's post that I was belittling Champ, READ the post. I did no such thing. But whatever...LET'S GO HEELS!

TARRRRRRRRR...

What are your keys to the game Gridiron?

Not sure I buy the "fork in the road" angle. We can't let every big game be "defining" for the program. Just too much self-imposed pressure. Hell, losing tonight wouldn't even kill us in the Coastal.... nor would winning ensure anything!

Part of the process to learning to win huge games is losing some of them. Doesn't mean we're not still on the right track.

Definitely a "cross-roads" game. Here is where it starts to determine the Coastal, thereby determining one half of the ACC-CG. Time for the Heels to shine and show all the doubters that this team is mentally tough, will not fold under adversity, and are here for the long haul! GO HEELS!!!!!!!

Get ahead early and force them to try to land haymakers (big plays) w/ us. Just not their personality. Offensively establish the run inside the Tackles and then when they cinch down inside a bit, get our screen and stick route game going to our guys in space. That quarters coverage will then be vulnerable deep and over the middle. Hollins, Fritts, and Singleton need to be huge. And of course, MW is key....as is the OL protecting him.

Defensively, keep improving vs. the run. Force them to get out of their personna. Easier said then done. Their QB can be a bit scatter-armed. A couple picks would be huge.

Main thing is simply not to beat ourselves w/ dumb penalties and mistakes. Evenly matched games are lost more often than won.

Plenty of tunnel screens and slants to Switzer, take your shots downfield with Hollins and Howard, and for the love of God, feed Hood the rock until he cant stand!!!

I agree overall, but I do think we have "losing in big games" down pretty well :(

Agreed that a hot start is absolutely paramount. If we can start hot and take a 10 or 14 point lead.......that would be absolutely huge. I'm not sure Pitt could recover from that.

Start slow like the last two weeks, especially including turnovers, and it will be a long night and may end in a big ol' "L" for the Heels.

I will say this..........IF (big "if") we can beat Pitt tonight and Duke next week, I LOVE our chances for the Coastal. Duke and Pitt still have to play one another and Pitt still has to face Louisville. I like both those teams' chances to drop a second game.

Would LOVE to have the Coastal wrapped up after Miami game @ 6-0 going to VT and mooU. If Miami and us knock Dook off and daVille handles Pitt, we own tiebreakers vs. both teams, and our road games won't matter to the race. Now, they matter for sure, in a very real sense....we owe moo, and we owe VT for years of being robbed by ACC officials vs VT.

You guys correcting grammar can floss on my ass hair. This is football correct. I want u as my offensive coordinator maybe but for the love of god stay on the sidelines;)

I thought it would be 2016 before we would see 7-1. So we are ahead of schedule, especially as we should be 8-0. But as well as we could finish this year, next year is when we can be a legit Top 5 team.

You keep saying that but I disagree because of our schedule. We shall see though. Definitely will have some key pieces to replace on both sides of the ball. OLine could be a worry.

Meanwhile VT beats BC. Op is right. Coastal > Atlantic

WE lose only Turner to eligibility. NO one should go NFL early. Fritts will be a better TE than Singleton. Trubisky will make our passing gamemuch more dangerous, which will make it hared for Ds to focus on Hood.

The offense should be better next year.

The D loses more 2 deep players than the O, but we also have major potential on D that is now 3rd team or is redshirting or committed. Next year's D, the 2nd with the new coaches should be deeper and better than this one.

UNC will have plenty of chances next year to prove that they belong in the top 5 ... UGA, FSU, PITT, UM, GT, VT, DUKE ... all of those teams will be pretty good.
