Meeks

So THANKFUL he came back for his Sr year. BEAST!

And he gets NO CALLS at all, zero trips to the foul line and yet Wake lived there the 2nd half. smh

Agree, those that dog him on these boards ain't watching what I'm watching. Sure he has his moments of being soft & is guaranteed to miss a layup every game, but that dude is balling out right now. You can tell he's starting to play with a little edge now too,

He needs to pass it out more and will be able to get even better position and shots by reposting but he is easily our best rebounder. When he plays well the team is at their best as well. I mean, he shot 50% tonight and had 18 and 11 in a game many thought he struggled. He has been an important piece for this team for his entire run.

Undoubtedly the POG tonight. One big play after another down the stretch. He also played about 33 minutes because Like and Isaiah(surprise, surprise) had four fouls. Probably his best game this year against a good young Wake front court.

Saaaaaaaalute!

Yea, I don't get the Meeks hate. We all know he has some limitations, but he's had a really good career and is by far our most consistent and productive big. I'm rarely (if ever) disappointed in Meeks' play game-to-game this season. He's been really good.

I know people crap on Meeks a lot, but we wouldn't have a good portion of our wins without him. If we utilize him along with Hicks, Bradley and Maye, we have one of the best frontcourts in the country. Just hope Tony is okay.

Meeks is on a mission to shut up a bunch of his critics just like Brice Johnson did his last season. I salute any student athlete who gives Carolina 4 years of his life. All of his critics can go to HELL. Is there any one of us who would do anything to be in his place and proudly wear the Carolina colors. Yea everyone of us...

One of the things I talked a lot about this past off season was Meeks, specifically the fact that for the past 2 seasons he faded after New Years and the reasons for his fades were not so crystal clear, in fact they were shrouded in a degree of mystery. We knew something was not right but there was little official confirmation of exactly what the problem was. Because of that Meeks was a big question mark for me leading in to this season.

But this season, rather than see a fade in his play in January, if anything he has played better in Jan than he did earlier season. I could not be happier with the answer he has provided my questions. Kid shows up every game, isn't always pretty but he is a consistent threat to double double in every game now days and that is something we should all be very happy about.

I remember peeps including me saying that most of his critics just stay in the moment, but don't actually watch what he does for the full game. Peeps are blinded by their expectations and his "soft" moments and often miss his contributions. Roy said we don't win without him last game and that should be enough.

I love the kid even though I get frustrated when some of his layups fall a little short.

I hope Kennedy drew confidence from the fact that he played 33 minutes against Wake, 9 more than his season average. If Tony can't go, we may need a similar effort against FSU. We're going to need big games from him and Isaiah in order to prevail.

Meeks has developed tremendously since his freshman year. He does not have the physical ability of Hicks; however, his basketball IQ and perseverance have made him a better overall player than Hicks.

I love the way he goes about Carolina basketball, late in the Weak game he made two plays that really impressed me, he goes to the block left of the lane, not happening, so the ball goes out, players move and the entry is made to the right of the lane, Kennedy receives the pass and puts up a beautiful left handed baby hook...twice...from the same play. It was a set for him and I did not know he had the left hand hook in his arsenal.
I love the big guy, and coach is right about Kennedy.
