The good news for the UNC D is that King is injured and out. A healthy King running the ball would have exposed the absolutely poor fundamentals that mark the UNC D players. The one great requirement in stopping a running QB is fundamentally sound play: each player staying at home, staying in his lane.

The Miami D is like the UNC D in that it has a lot of undisciplined talent that needs an overlay of basic fundamentals. So the game may well come down to which OL sucks the most and which D makes the most mistakes.

The starting QB for Miami on Saturday is also a runner.

Van Dyke is not as fast and quick as a healthy King, nor does he have the same level of deceptive moves. King has the open field moves, and thigh strength, to go along with speed that would make him an ideal WR to break big on every catch.

Will Diaz be coaching to save his job this week? I don't mean that I think he could be fired this week with a Loss, but that for Miami to reach at least 7 wins probably requires a win over UNC. And Miami boosters who already want Diaz replaced will use a loss to UNC after FSU beat UNC as almost all the proof they need.

Regardless, he's still a runner that can give this defense problems. Also, King hasn't shown he has all those deceptive moves, thigh strength etc since the injury last year.

I have no expectations for this game. Whatever happens.......
Right. UNC could win by 21, or UNC could lose by 17. From all that we've seen, each outcome is equally possible. As is a 3-OT contest in which at times each team looks brilliant and at other times each team looks like a bottom dweller in the SoCon.

Miami is as erratic, and as questionably coached, as UNC. Miami also has a large amount of largely wasted talent.

I'd be surprised if it was over half full.
Various 'experts' are either outright asserting or at least hinting the same thing. The degree to which that comes to pass is the degree to which the sheen of bubbly optimism over the hiring of Mack has begun to evaporate quickly among average fans.

Lots of recruits at this one... hope fans show up.

Miami seems to be self-inflicting, but so do we. My inner almanac says UNC wins by 3, but gut says this is a coin-flip with there being a 2 td difference at the end.

They didn't even show up for duke. They aren't showing up for this trainwreck. They shouldn't be expected to either.

Disagree, respectfully with this comment. Recruits pay attention to fan loyalty and attendance is a big part of that. Like it or not, fans play a part in recruiting.
All fan bases do it. Showing up to a game has nothing to do with fan loyalty. And attendance at games barely registers for recruits. On field performance, relationship with coaches/teammates, opportunity to play, brand and about 100 other things are more important.
