Mid-Game Run Showed Heels Have Clearly Improved

I think it's really difficult to gauge overall team improvement over the season when there have been so many inconsistencies in line-ups, minutes allocated and coaching inconsistencies in offensive and defensive schemes. This season reminds me a bit of the Doherty days as it has often been difficult to watch or appreciate the product on the court.

Another thought I had about the game: I thought of placing a classic UNC team in dooks spot and the Heels playing a mid-tier ACC road game.

The Heels lost a comfortable lead late in the first half to a desperate home team who went into the half with surging momentum. The Heels weather the storm with poise, patience, talent, and commitment to their coach's adjustments and scheme, eventually wearing-down the upset-minded home team. The final margin being almost equivalent to the original gap built in the first half.

Post-game, most poasters were happy with how the Heels responded to the uppercut from the opponent with others expressing displeasure in losing the sizable first half lead in the first place; that we should've won by 30; that the other team should've never been allowed back in the game; that whatever led to that defensive lapse may come back to haunt them in the second weekend in the tourney.

I think I kind of miss that type of discourse about the Heels on the board.
