Name That Song

Someone should just put up a real easy one to get things back on track.

On behalf of @gunslingerdick I submit the following:

Something's wrong, shut the light
Heavy thoughts tonight
And they aren't of Snow White
Dreams of war
Dreams of liars
Dreams of dragons fire
And of things that will bite, yeah

Sleep with one eye open
Gripping your pillow tight

Exit light
Enter night
Take my hand
We're off to Never Never-land

On the other side of a street I knew
Stood a girl that looked like you
I guess that's deja vu
But I thought this can't be true
'Cause you moved to west L.A or New York or Santa Fe
Or where ever to get away from me

Oh but that one night
Was more than just right
I didn't leave you cause I was all through
Oh I was overwhelmed and frankly scared as hell
Because I really fell for you

It was Jane's Addiction and De La Soul, people. My goodness. Are you telling me that more people are going to know Train than the two bands I recently poasted lyrics for? If so, I don't want to live here anymore.

I'm a little surprised that someone like @strummingram or @TarHeelMark didn't get the Jane's Addiction song, but no one getting De La Soul isn't surprising. This is harder than you would think. Not having the music makes it more difficult. There's been several on here that I haven't recognized at first, but once someone said the name the light bulb went off and I could sing the whole thing.

Agree, agree. Just chastising everyone a little.

Agree on not having the tune. Some of these are tough.

I would definitely listen to either of those over train. But that freaking train song was played so much that it was a softball for most of us.

If it's another Train song, then GFY.

It wasn't "another" train song. I only put one up. The title was Drive By. Let's just move on

Here's another one (and it's not another Train song)

I had a friend was a big baseball player
Back in high school
He could throw that speedball by you
Make you look like a fool boy
Saw him the other night at this roadside bar
I was walking in, he was walking out
We went back inside sat down had a few drinks
But all he kept talking about was

Gotcha. And the GFY is an OOTB standard reply; not to be taken seriously.

The microphone explodes, shattering the molds
Either drop tha hits like de la O or get the **** off tha commode
With tha sure shot, sure ta make the bodies drop
Drop an don't copy yo, don't call this a co-op
Terror rains drenchin', quenchin' tha thirst
Of tha power dons - that five sided Fist-a-gon
The rotten sore on tha face of Mother Earth gets bigger
The triggers cold empty ya purse

Yeah, now the sun goes slidin' 'cross the water
Sailboats, they go searchin' for the breeze
Salt air it ain't thin
It can stick right to your skin
And make you feel fine
It makes you feel fine

His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy
There's vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti
He's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready
To drop bombs, but he keeps on forgettin'
What he wrote down, the whole crowd goes so loud
He opens his mouth, but the words won't come out
He's chokin', how, everybody's jokin' now
The clocks run out, times up, over, blaow!

Everybody smash up your seats and rock to this brand new beat
This here music mash up the nation
This here music cause a sensation
Tell your ma, tell your pa
Everything's gonna be alright
Can't you feel it? Don't ignore it
Gonna be Alright

This seems to be a popular song.

Try this one:

The ice age is coming, the sun is zooming in
Meltdown expected, the wheat is growin' thin
Engines stop running, but I have no fear
'Cause London is drowning, and I, I live by the river
