Not too often you get to score a last second touchdown AND take a knee for a national championship.
Well... they'll be having a month-long ceremony here now
I like Dabo a lot.
But damn y'all are a bunch of turncoat motherfukkers pulling for Clemson. We ain't never gonna get a good recruit in NC or SC that Clemson really wants for a good 5+ years.

You can't look at Dabo and not feel happy for him. Hats off to Clemson. They truly won that game.

Clemson winning doesn't help us. They recruit the same area and players as us.
If it was friggin BC or Louisville or GT in the NCG, yeah I'd be screaming ACC, ACC. Not Clemson. I can think of 5 players that made key contributions for them tonight that we also heavily recruited.

Already established they're getting everyone they want anyway. Sorry, was tired of Bama winning every year and have a couple of ties to Clemson so happy they won. Not a turncoat though. GO HEELS!
Being realistic...if I were a big time recruit, it would be very hard to not elect to sign with Clemson. Dabo is as genuine as they come. Wish there were more like him.
Also, it has to be CRAZY to be Dabo. I don't know how I'd react to playing against my Alma mater twice in a row in a championship game. That's crazy stuff.
IMO, Fedora is no less genuine than Dabo. But that's just my opinion.

You have no idea. Last time it was insane so multiply that by a bazillion now. It's already started.
We weren't getting a recruit Clemson really wanted anyways with back to back runner ups either. We're destined for their scraps, so maybe some of those will be 4*s if they get packed with 5*s.
That ACC cred is big. A 1 loss team that beats Clemson in the ACCCG in the next couple of years is in the playoffs. We were probably still out last year even if we had gotten a win over Clemson. If that same scenario played out next year and we won, we'd be in.
Why has everyone forgotten about FSU's natty? That was just 3 seasons ago. Why is Clemson's win tonight only now just legitimizing the league? Seems silly.
And I disagree we are destined to get Clemson's scraps. But we certainly will be if they continue at this rate....thus me pulling against them tonight.
Anyway, it was fun tonight fellas. Good game!
Perception. It would be the same if Miami returned to prominence. Those are the blue bloods people are used to seeing at the top historically, so if they were to win, it doesn't have the same impact that a Clemson does... If UNC or VaTech were to make a run and win it, it would have a bigger impact for the league than FSU or Miami winning it.
FSUs natty helped as well, but the ACC had been seen as FSU and everyone else until Clemson got back on top. Who was the last ACC team to win a natty other than FSU... Clemson the last time? Miami was in the big east for all theirs I believe. GT got a share in 90 I guess.
We need to get you out on the recruiting trail if you think you could win a recruit over for UNC that was eyeing what would have been the back to back national runner ups in Clemson.
Very happy for Clemson and the ACC. As someone stated, the ACC has been FSU and everybody else for many years. We added Miami but they have not been a top 10 program since they came aboard. So FSU has carried the banner for the conference.
Of course it doesn't make it any easier to keep Clemson from poaching key recruits from UNC. But we need to elevate our program, not hope theirs declines. I like Dabo and wish we could sign a coach just like him. He's a winner and a good guy, hard not to pull for him. Plus, it was getting boring watching that jerkoff Saban and Bama roll every year.
This win was great for the ACC. We've got as good a set of coaches as we've ever had and we're slowly evolving into a really good football conference. Now we have to continue to elevate our program or get left in the dust. Fed has a huge challenge ahead of him next year. We'll see if he's up to it.

I guess someone wasn't getting any Celebratory National Championship sex last night! Sorry dude! It's GREAT!!!! lol. Clemson won't be settling down anytime soon so I might as well enjoy it since I'm here
It's not "only now just legitimizing the league." It's building on the existing perception of the quality of the league. One win by one team three years ago is one thing. Multiple wins by multiple ACC teams is way mo betta. And keeping Bama and the SEC from adding one more to that ridiculous tally of like 8 of the last 10 champs helps too. Frontrunner.
And yes. Incredible game. Can't ask for anything more out of a championship bout.
Did anyone else chuckle when the Bama LB starting toting around the championship belt WAAAAAAAAY too early? I immediately thought JINX, JINX!!
Exactly, JuleZ. The conference is gaining momentum as a force to be reckoned with in college football. I'm sure THN realizes the significance of that, I think he is worried that it will make it even harder to keep NC recruits home. And maybe it will, but their program isn't going to decline any time soon so we've got to deal with that and elevate our program.
Good post - agree 100%. The comment about us needing to improve, not hope everyone else declines is spot on.
