Does he plan to? At the end of the article you said he is expected to play. Wasn't sure if that was a typo or if there was a lawsuit and restraining order on the way.He can, UNC cannot.

It's still ridiculous, though. You can't have a different set of rules saying you can play for 50 teams as long as you graduate, but have to sit out if you don't. The rules are just ridiculous. Need autonomy fast.Just so everyone knows, JT Daniels graduated from Georgia before going to WVU. As a graduate, he can freely move. That's how Cam Kelly and Storm Duck were at UVA & Penn State, respectively, this spring and are both now at Louisville.
My guess is he may leave to NFL as next year would be his 6th year out of high school. This has huge money implications for him. He needs to sue.Any chance he stays and plays next year (if he doesn't win in court) or will go the route of preparing for the NFL draft?
He should. If he had gone to an SEC or BT school, he'd be playing. The NCAA bows before the super rich and then plays things pretty much as they want.He can, UNC cannot.
It's most ridiculous because Daniels has now played in games for 4 schools: SC, UGA, WVU, Rice. It's still ridiculous, though. I agree. He needs to lawyer up.My guess is he may leave to NFL as next year would be his 6th year out of high school. This has huge money implications for him. He needs to sue.
Hmmm 🤔The people that heard the case today was not the NCAA it was people from other schools…1 was from App State…
Also I believe there a factions that don’t want this player on the field for UNC. If it was another program I believe the outcome would be different. Also where is this lame duck Jim Phillips
He is sitting back taking that oil money from SMU….Just another reason for UNC to get out of the ACC…I know many don’t like it but I said it before if Tez was a Bball player at UNC and big time he would be playing…
Facts are UNC laid down for the NCAA in 2010 for football…It was only until they came after the Bball program did UNC say nope this ain’t happening…
That's the biggest reason I hope he sues them. A lawsuit means a discovery process. All communication has to be turned over and depositions happened. There's no way that turns out good for the NCAA.I strongly believe there is a certain group of athletic administrators who believe Carolina got away with the so called academic scandal and this sham result is just another way for these small time aholes to stick it to Carolina, regardless of the damage they might inflict on the athlete.
Going to need the other TE’s to step up with Copenhaver having a hand injury. The tight ends will have to shine again
But the processes of a lawsuit can take a lot of time - perhaps longer than most (or all) of this football season As bad as all this is, if there isn't a good chance Tez could get a favorable suit ruling (or a bench injunction from a judge) and play this season, maybe he should just save money and focus on next year. (But I am not him, and I know how badly he wants to play.) What a crock this is!That's the biggest reason I hope he sues them. A lawsuit means a discovery process. He can apply for a TRO so he could play. But it's bigger than him now. The lawsuit would be to expose the NCAA and all of their bullshit. They need to be torn down or at least reminded of their purpose. ETA: He could also sue for damages related to any NIL opportunities he might have lost this year.
I believe he could apply for a TRO within the next couple of weeks, which would let him play this year. That doesn't mean he would actually get it, but I think he should try it. The courts have been pretty anti-NCAA lately and I don't think they really have a good defense for this decision. At this point I'm more interested in the bigger picture. You mentioned in the podcast that they should have to answer for this decision. A lawsuit would force them to do that.Your last point is a really good one, because his best bet is a civil suit. It's unlikely he could get the ruling flipped in time to play this season, and perhaps he has the stones to push it lik Ed O'Bannon did, where the civil aspect is intertwined with the rules aspect.
I was thinking the same. Also these Power 5 conferences need to fast track the creation of a new governing body for football and men’s/women’s basketball. The sooner the better. All NCAA logos need to be covered for the rest of the year..I am talking uniforms and the field everything…
Thanks AJ and Keysersosay. Excellent synopsis here.Committed to ECU. Their coaching staff left so he decommitted. Signed with ETSU but tore his ACL in his senior season of high school and was basically abandoned by ETSU. Sits out a year rehabbing the knee. Goes to NC Central and has his freshman season cancelled. Forms a relationship with the Kent St coaches and transfers there. Plays for the first time since high school and develops into a real talent in his second year. Then the Kent St coaches jump ship effectively abandoning Tez again. Meets ALL the requirments for a two-transfer waiver and signs with UNC. TWO F'N DAYS LATER, the NCAA jerks the rug out from under him and changes their rules. And with a complete understanding of his situation - laid out multiple times - they still denied his waiver. The schools paying the bills need to tell the NCAA to rot in hell.
I'd be supporting this young man no matter where he was trying to play.
