Honestly, NCSU isn't a terrible team. I'm a little nervous about this one, but then again, I've been nervous about the last 4 so what's new? I do love the fact that we've clinched the Coastal so at least there's no pressure there. With the division clinched, hopefully the boys in blue focus on one more much needed payback win.

I think State is a dangerous and underrated team. But we should win. I'd like to see us do to them what we did to Miami and Duke.
But this could be more like the VA Tech game. If that's the case and we still win, great. But we absolutely shouldn't underestimate State.

I'm just hoping that they can't land any cheap shots. Those guys play a different game than we do.
Biggest thing we have going is we have nothing but State of NC Pride to focus on. The Coastal is locked up and we are playing in CLT. That's plenty of motivation after that debacle from last season.
I'm extremely worried too. One concern is how our road games have gone:
1. SC - loss (neutral site)
2. GT - biggest comeback in UNC history to avoid the loss
3. Pitt - decent first half but had to hang on for the win
4. VT - good stretch in 2nd half but we nearly shat the bed; fortunately hung on.
We've not played a good complete game away from Kenan. Let's hope we can change that this week.

we just ran the gauntlet at VA TECH there is nothing the woofies have that can/will match that and we played like crap and still won. We are gonna romp I am tellin ya
State lost to V Tech by two TDs, but we will probably face their best version, so agree with the rest of this. As others say though we should not lack for motivation either after last year!
Maybe I'm playing the chicken little card? I hope the majority of you guys are right about what will happen. I'll be in attendance and take the abuse from their contingent for the ones who cannot be or better yet don't want to be.

Same here. I was dating a girl who went to moo (BIG mistake, but that is another story) way back in my young and stupid days and she scored us 2 tickets to a UNC/moo game once. Absolute worst experience I have ever had and the ONLY time I ever truly felt my life was in jeopardy.
I swore I would never darken that cesspool again and I am glad to say that I have never been back.

I am taking my 7 year old to the game and I admit I am nervous about taking him. I have seen people peeing in the stands, spitting at UNC fans as they leave, had bottles thrown at us in the parking lot, and even had a 70 something year old lady state fan poke me in the chest and trash talk me a few years ago there. Now even though the old lady thing was funny the other behaviors do disburb me. Probably should not take him but due to his Pop Warner flag schedule this year we only get to go to the Miami game. Trying you get one more in. Wish us luck.
VT 28, moo 13; without VT's starting QB, to boot, begs to differ. Now, if you are saying that moo is more the TYPE team that gives us trouble, that I can buy. We could play VT 10 times, and they'd never score 30 pts. Moo can score. They CANNOT load the box ala VT b/c they don't have the DBs to risk in single coverage vs our WRs.
I honestly don't know what to expect this week. There is no doubt in my mind we can and should beat the living snot out of them. Still, we ALL know this is their national championship game and even though it means nothing to us in terms of the conference, they will want to win more than anything they have done all year long.
We know their secondary should have their hands full with our WR's. I doubt they can afford to load the box and try to force MW to beat them because I think he can with their personnel. So that means that we should be able to score pretty much every time we get the ball. All it will take is some shots down field and they will have to move guys back and that means Hood and Logan could have a field day. So, let's say for the sake of arguments that we score a lot.
Now, realistically, they CAN score, but can they score against us? I am not sure they can score enough to win given what I said above. Even when our defense was really bad, they didn't put up numbers like we did against dook and Miami. Now we have a better defense, stingy DB's and are putting pretty good pressure with only 4 guys rushing. We have had problems against the run, but who on their team would you term "scary" or "unstoppable"? I can't think of a single guy. Their WR's are pretty good but I gotta tell you our DB's have gone against some pretty good receivers and held their own.
If we play like we did against uSC I still think we win because, truthfully, I am not sure moo is as good now as uSC was then. Now? Well, I think they definitely are better, but back then I thought uSC looked pretty good. Then the wheels fell off.

Their head-to-head is irrelevant. What matters is how they match up with UNC. Moo is better in nearly every conceivable metric than VT. They're basically VT Part II, controlling the clock with the run game and limiting opponents' play count. If we bring the same lackluster execution to CF that we did last week, it could end badly for us.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let the woofies load the box with 8-9 defenders. See how that works out for them. Better yet, let them drop 6 in coverage every play and see how that works also!

We KNOW the Woofies are gonna be playing dirty. Our guys need to keep their heads and NOT get sucked into that and get needless penalties due to retaliation. Score, Score, Score, Score, Score, Score, Score and Score some more and play tough on defense and BURY their sorry asses! THAT is the best revenge!
