I'm guessing coach williams has better intel than we do. If we knew what he does we would understand why the offer was made. Now what he knows may very well be stuff we dont wanna hear...
I'd like to have a commit from him as well because it would at least be a bird in the hand. But from what I read, UT is the leader because of his brother playing there.
Also, is there any chance this guy tries to play both football and basketball? We have as great a need on the O-line for our football team as we do for the post of our basketball team. He's a 5 star football player and a 3-4 star basketball player.
247 has the most accurate list by each mentioned year. I'd link to them, but im using a device that doesnt handle C&P very well.
In 2015, we offered Kennard, Ingram, and Jeter. I believe Jeter cut us IIRC.
The Jones offer looked like a formality for Okafor, who we were in on until their "tandem" took bloom. Jones was never coming to begin with.
Does a school only get a certain number of offers per year?? If not as far as I can see why not offer kids who we feel comfortable being at UNC regardless of who else in the country has already offered and go from there... It doesn't hurt to look in my opinion
There is no limit on offers, just a limit on how many scholarships you can have on roster each year.
You have to be careful with the offers you put out, these kids want to feel like they are loved beyond all others, at least at their position. for example you feel like you have a great shot at bamba, you don't really want to offer another 4 or 5 star at his position so you do not risk it upsetting him and having him feel he can't get the PT that he wants.
Now that may make some of these kids come off a little selfish, it may cause you to question how much a competitor a kid is if he is not willing to battle in practice for his position and PT. They seem to look at it as the girl asked to the prom does not want the guy to ask anyone else or even look in any other girls direction.
But at the same time you can't put all your eggs in one basket either.. I realize you can't offer every kid out there every year but I believe you can't just offer 1 or 2 at each position either
I don't get why you're so weary of this kid? So we shouldn't offer kids or get excited when they commit because some really good HS players in the past have not developed? I just don't get your reasoning for being negative.

Not being negative. If anything being patient plus I am not big on chasing teenagers around like love struck teenage girls following around their favorite boy band.
You will not find me argue you on that, I am the guy that has wanted and said it here many times that we need to get out multiple offers to big men, 3 and 4 star guys and get a bird in hand rather than risk so much on birds in the bushes.
I was just trying to explain why we have offered so few, not stating that I agreed with it. I am kinda the guy that believe you can do more with a machine gun than a rifle. I really don't care if an offer out to a 4star big man allows a 5star we were not going to get any way an excuse to eliminate us. There are IMO, no less than 5 4star big men that are not today committed that can play well for us and potentially develop in to a starter or at very least a key off the bench guy for a national title team with the back court talent we already have and that is on the way to us.
The way I see things is if a 5 star wants to play for us then freakin commit already and if they don't then don't, if you are not willing to come in and compete against other talented players for your playing time and win it, if you are really as talented as you believe, then by all means go some place else. I would rather have a 3 or 4 star kid that is willing to come in and bust his arse and learn from our coaching staff than a kid that comes in and needs a silver spoon shoved up his butt. Being real with ya!
Outside of their predictions (which I won't touch in this thread), 24/7 is legit in most areas of recruiting info. Especially their rankings. They put more effort into their rankings than the likes of scout or ESPN. IMO.
