Are we in the running for Wiseman?

I have heard that Bacot is a big Duke lean which is surprising to me with the opportunities we have in our frontcourt even with an expectation that Manley will be extremely solid by then.

Wisemen is a huge UK lean and Bacot is a Dook lean. I Wouldn’t be surprised if Carey went to Dook as well.

EDIT: I was wrong. VC had Shea Rush listed as a scholly player. We'd have room for 3 more, including Francis. I'd go with

Baker

And hold the last scholarship until 2020.

Wiseman and Carey were our obligatory offer to the top guys that won't end up here in the end. We make them every year and I wouldn't bank on either of them seriously considering us.

Bacot's a huge Dookie too.

This. The key is Baker. He's a potential skilled, multi-year starter at Center.

I also very much approve of UNC's general recruiting strategy this class. In Francis, Moore, and Baker you have 3 very good players who are also unlikely to be OADs. This has the potential to be a class similar to 2014.

I'm underwhelmed from what I've seen of Wiseman as for his fit in our system. Carey is a better fit, IMO. We're in it for him but with sure OADs? Well... we know how that usually goes these days.

I really like Baker and Bacot as well.

Practically speaking, I wouldn't be surprised to see the future Heels coming from the group among Moore, Earl, Gaffney or Nickelberry

Agreed. I like Earl, but prying him away from KU will be tough.

Getting him and Baker to go with a wing would be a stellar follow up to 2018

Why?

I don't think we've backed off of Nickelberry like some may think. He hasn't had a lot of recruiting activity since September from what I've seen. Perhaps hes just focused on High School ball rn.

That being said, I think we could see a Jairus Hamilton situation with him if we get traction with Gaffney or someone else.
