Maybe more important than some of the 2017 and 2018 offers being sent out to five-star players are the recent offers to 2016 in-state prospects that North Carolina has been sending out.
For example:
ILB Garrett Hooker -- Here's our recent update on where things stand with him. Seems very grateful for the offer and is taking it seriously, but also wants to stay open-minded and I think offers from schools like those he mentioned -- Clemson, UGA -- would be seriously considered. However, those might be long shots given that those schools already have primary targets at his position.
DT Marlon Dunlap -- Here's a Charlotte prospect that UNC has started to prioritize. Like Hooker, he believes recent offers from UNC and ECU are just the beginning and he wants to wait and see where the chips fall. But he, like Hooker, really does like UNC, more so recently than in his youth. Our initial update on him was posted this week.
