Our Governor along with several others have written letters to obama admin refusing to accept refugees from Syria until a good vetting process is put into place. Many on the left have been hammering the gov's, and any of those that support this. (I have been called un-Christian, a bigot, a backwoods hick etc today on twitter) My question is why is it a bad thing to want to make sure of, or at least attempt to make sure, that there are no bad dudes(jihadists) in the groups being planted within your state?

hope Pete Ricketts follows suit.

Not sure who would want to live in Arkansas... But, just about any place is suitable for plotting terror attacks...

Who the Hell would even want to live in Arkansas, let alone, drive through it . .

well keep your liberal drunk ass out then…..we run your type out and over the border into Missouri!!!!

Arkansas is where Johnny Cash was born... I like that aspect!

Sounds good in theory. But also sounds like a nightmare as undocumented immigrants are forcibly detained. Real cluster coitus.

It is not ideal, but if we are going to be charitable enough to bring these people in, and open our nation, with all it's freedom of movement to them, it is necessary.
This is how a civilized nation protects the integrity of it's borders. There are many rules for incoming immigrants to ensure that they aren't carrying diseases or are violent criminals, and they need to be followed.

despite the idiotic attacks from the usual suspects on my families home state, Nuk, I actually expected better from you, the subject at hand is accepting Syrian refugees or not...... "[The refugees] are coming from a country where they don't even have viable records; nobody knows if these passports are legit....so how do we know who these people are? When we figure out that question, then and only then should we accept these folks! Facts are facts and right now islam is NOT peaceful!!!

I'm gonna defend Gac a little here. Little Rock is a great small city- i have been there several times and it has a cool scene.

Cant say anything about the rest of the state though as I have no experience.

I'm sorry, Gac. I was trying to get BillyL to bite on the Bubba & Shillary angle... my lame attempt at levity...
Anyway, I'm completely with you on the merits of refusing entry of Syrian refugees at this point. Heck, we've had millions of illegal aliens bum-rush our borders, and intelligence officials have estimated that thousands of terrorist could be among them... That has had me worried for quite some time...

Serious question... Don't the feds already conduct rigorous screening of all refugees who are given admission into the country? I think I read somewhere the process sometimes takes up to a year. I've seen a few governors saying they want changes to the vetting process but nowhere have I seen what they think needs to be changed.

Close it down completely. It's an unnecessary risk at a time of unsettlement. And frankly, eventually, we're going to be at capacity. Not enough resources for the citizens.

I'd like to see our country's homeless vets and unemployed vets get first crack at a good life vice 10000 Syrian refugees, a good number of which could be on ISIS payroll...

A leader of New York City’s Syrian community told The Post on Wednesday that ISIS terrorists have “absolutely” sneaked into America by posing as civil-war refugees — and joined sleeper cells just waiting to be activated.
“I believe the terrorists from Syria have been coming into the United States, not only in the past few years, but way before that,” said Aarafat “Ralph” Succar of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, home of the city’s largest enclave of Syrian immigrants. “I think they’re already at work.”
Succar, a member of the Bay Ridge Community Council, said corruption in his homeland is so rampant that anyone could easily pay bribes and obtain official identification papers bearing a fake name to disguise their real identity.
“You can go to the Syrian government today and say to them, ‘I need a piece of paper that says I’m Tony Caterpillar.’ And they give it to you,” he said.
“These are not forged documents. These are written out by a government employee who needs money, whose family has no food.”
Succar, 57, who immigrated to the United States when he was 10, also noted that “Third World countries, particularly places like Syria, do not have the network of information the United States has.”
“In Syria, there’s no such thing. So when they tell you that [the refugees] are vetted, are you out of your mind?” he said.

Then maybe you should tell your Republican friends to stop blocking bills to take care of them.

Hmmmmmmm... From the article you cited, the Senate DEMs were out of line with the US Constitution when they tried to get this bill passed. Here's why:

"This violates the Budget Control Act, there is no dispute about it,” Sessions said in a floor speech Wednesday. “The bill will not even go through the House and it violates the Constitution because it says revenue bills must be started in the House ... [and] this is a revenue bill.”

This happened in 2012!!! Got anything since the GOP correctly submitted a VET jobs bill through the HOR in January 2015???
You asked for proof of the meme. How "constitutional" it is is out of my hands.
