Nothing about Men's basketball. Elizabeth, I'm coming to join you honey!

I know an abc'er who claimed he had inside info on the punishment including loss of scholarships , death penalty , players transferring in mass , banners coming down , and even claimed rampant amphetamine drug use in the program etc. etc. when I told him he was FOS , he came back and said he would SMD if it wasn't true. I politely declined but told him I was sure he could find someone on line to oblige him since he spent so much time on line researching and following the scandal. His life will be so empty once this is all over. I am expecting him to have a nervous breakdown.

I guess they figured they already hurt us enough with the crap looming over the University's head. GEES! Warm up the plane Roy and go get' em.......

I'm a little confused. The original NOA (at least in my reading) was much more damning to the MBB and FB programs. How does additional violations sent by UNC in the fall = a much more favorable NOA now? Did the additional findings reported by UNC also include challenges to the ONOA? I'm not complaining but I am confused.

Look the shock is starting to set in at Lance Thomas Cover UP College LTCC ( DOOK) moo and all the rest of them.....This is fantastic news and it is the RIGHT and proper decision for the NCAA to do this

This is good news, but it's not over yet. There is no telling what the NCAA is going to do regarding any type of punishment. If Bubba sneezes while presenting the case in front of the committee they may give us a 50 year ban or let us off with no punishment.

UNC's self reporting previously unknown violations last fall were limited to Women's Basketball. Nothing about Mens BB.

I am also confused as to whether or not the original charges were dropped or these new NOA are just added on to the original.

The amended NOA is our only concern, it supersedes the previous . .

Well you can worry all you want. We may get some sort of minor punishment loss of a scholly etc... Bilas KNOWS what he is talking about. The NCAA had almost no case, they may slap us around a little bit but as I said a while ago the Light at the end of the tunnel is blinding

For anyone else wondering this:

The only reason you will be told differently is because there is a sentence that says

"Please note that the policies and procedures outlined in the May 20, 2015, notice of allegations and corresponding cover letter still apply."

Policies and Procedures ≠ Original NOA.

As Bilas tweeted....the NCAA knew it had no case and dropped the improper benefits charges. :)
Exactly, which is what those of us who had a clue were saying from the day we first saw that silly allegation. The original extra benefits charge was a piece of contorted verbal gymnastics worthy of Olga Korbut. I'm sure UNC's legal types flagged that one and let the NCAA know how far that was gonna fly pretty quick. Makes ya wonder if the self-reporting of the additional violations served the dual purpose of firing a shot across their bow as to how UNC was gonna react to the overreach in the original... hmm?

No MBB mentions...

No Impermissible Benefits charge...

I am Zero Percent surprised. Roy Williams is an honest man and a class act, as well as STILL being one of the finest College Basketball Coaches in the World!

When he said Men's BB was not affected I took that as gospel and stopped worrying about any MBB sanctions.

I really hope that now we can go back to getting big time recruits again.
I think we are going to have a much easier time getting players ranked 15-30. Hopefully Bamba sees the benefit of starting as a freshman at the PF position, which would prove Roy is "OAD friendly" and would allow UNC to get that one key OAD player when a starting position is open. Plugging in a OAD at the wing to replace Bullock after he left would have greatly improved that year's team for example.

Also, don't underestimate the effect this may have with an even higher rated '17 Big......

That fella DevilDJ needs a mention here. He has worked tirelessly for the last 5 years trying to help bring down the Heels with his posting of twitter accounts from people that don't matter (most of whom I've never even heard of) and his constant references to "The Flagship". Who gets to "lulz" now, friend? Y'all should have some fun at his expense. Go to DI and check out the Carolina Way thread. You can tell through his recent posts, he's about to cry. Because he knows that he now has no reason for existence. He should probably just kill himself.
