TarHeelIllustrated - Off-Court Chemistry Has Come Easy For Revamped Heels
While the Tar Heels work on meshing on the court this summer, they have quickly built chemistry off of it.

I think we saw that in the last national title game, 2 teams that looked to have outstanding chemistry, like the individual parts all fit together to make the collective stronger than the individual component players. And frankly, I think we as well saw this in our team last season, chemistry just was not there, it felt forced and in the end it got us what we deserved.I would take chemistry over talent every day of the week & twice on Sunday.
Every team has great chemistry in the summer. I will reserve judgment until I see them face some adversity. What I expect from a UNC team in terms of chemistry has been lacking for a few years. Unfortunately the NIL stuff is just one more obstacle in real team chemistry. The changing landscape of college basketball has definitely left me longing for "the old days". Michael Jordan carried the film projector as a freshman but kids coming in now with large deals in place seem to have sense of entitlement. I do not envy coaches today and really do wonder how successful any of the legendary coaches would do today.
Would Vince Carter be okay sitting until he was ready to play defense the way Coach Smith required? Would any player stay around Bobby Knight's authoritarian program? I will still watch the heels but doubt I will ever really see Carolina basketball again.
