OK, so you are a NBA GM...

Also, GSD, Ingram must be doing something right. He's gone from no chance at being a one and done and will never average double digits in the NBA to late lottery that might average a meaningless 12 a game a couple years to top five that will be lucky to score 15 a game in a span of about a month in your eyes.

Use that link for everything you said about him not being as good as KD, Melo's worst 9 game stretch. Numbers don't lie.

Again, no one is saying that he's KD or PG13 right now. What you do though when you are a REAL NBA Gm is that you draft based on current production and ceiling. Right now, with the exception of Ben Simmons, there is no player with a better combo in college basketball.

Also, you mention 5 of the bad 9 teams...how about the other 4 games. 3 in the ACC (two road games) and Utah.

God I feel dirty for talking this highly of a Duke player but to dismiss him as not a top 5 talent in this draft is just plain foolish. I'm just glad you're not running the front office of my favorite team.

Wait now, in your first sentence you share a link that you suggests proves he is as good as Kd or melo and in the second sentence you say no one is saying he is? How do you get to get things both ways there boss?

I feel like even if Ingram scores 20+ a game for the rest of the season, there will still be people that point out how much he struggled in the first seven games of his college career, completely discounting the fact that he'll be the youngest player in the upcoming draft by a pretty wide margin and it was kinda expected he'd struggle until he got used to the college game, like he did in high scool.

And sure, he "only" averaged 16 and 6 against Utah, VT, and WFU (Not sure why you're throwing a 24 point game against Indiana into that group), but are you just ignoring the fact that he also averaged over 4 blocks and 2 steals a game in those three games?

No one will know how good Ingram will be until he gets to the NBA. Did he have a shaky start to the year? Yes. Has he been very good since then? Yes. Has it been against mediocre at best competition? Yes. Does he think he's a two guard? Yes. Will he play 2-guard in the NBA? Probably not.

Let's remember that Anthony Bennett went 1st overall a couple years ago. GMs make horrible decisions in crucial draft position all the time. One very well could take a chance that Ingram develops into a great NBA player in a draft position 2-5. As a matter of fact I'd be surprised if he doesn't go in the top 5. He's been hyped up enough by ESPN, in the few minutes they're not fondling K's junk, that he's low risk to an NBA GM. GM's get fired for making "off the grid" picks in the top 5. They don't get fired for taking the over-hyped, loads of potential, consensus top 5 pick - even if they turn out to be a bust.

OK bud, is it the 6 for 16 shooting vs Utah that is suppose to blow me away? The 10 for 15 vs Indiana was a good game for him, the 9 for 18 against BC was pretty good, doesn't exactly make me think Durant but a good game. Yeah, ya maybe didn't want to talk about the 5 for 13 game vs wake? Tell ya what, we won't talk about the 2 for 7 vs Gtown or the 1 for 6 vs Ky. lets talk about those monster games he had vs such amazing competition again Yale (7 for 16), Utah st (2 for 4), Buffloe (8 for 15), Ga Southern (9 for 13 ;), Elon (11 for 16), and I would add VT and Longbeach but they are not on your schedule site with box scores.

Well darn, looking at what I just put together, and KNOWING that Yale, Utah st, Buffloe, Ga Southern, and Elon are for sure top 10 programs and easily top 1 or 2 seeds come NCAAT time, what was I thinking...

He's had some below average shooting days, everyone does, not a big deal to me. What sets the great players apart is their ability to make a difference in a game even when their shot isn't falling and that's what Ingram does. I don't know if he'll be a great NBA player, but I do know he's a top three talent and will probably be drafted in that range. His length, athleticism and shooting ability is not something that comes around very often.

There's zero doubt in my mind that if he committed to UNC all those months ago, you'd be proclaiming him the next big thing right now because you deal in hyperbole and always have.

You need to go back and check the posts. I said Meeks would leave and did not get into a discussion whether he was ready or not. Meeks will not get much better staying another year in college. A lot of fans don't want to hear this, but the only people that really benefit by Meeks staying another year are the fans and the team. It does very little for a possible NBA career. Meeks needs to develop a potent 15-20 foot jumper and a semi-hook shot to stick in the NBA as an important role player for NBA team. He can develop that better by moving on to the NBA , D league or Europe. UNC does not need Meeks to be a jump shooter. Meeks cannot jump and that is a serious problem for him. Meeks has aspirations to play in the NBA and he will move on IMO after this year and give it his best shot. He is also injury prone. We have many fans with the mentality that players should not leave unless they "are ready". If they was the case, 50% of the players that declare should not leave. Also, some players may never be ready for the NBA. Does that mean they should stick around in college for 4 years? I doubt Meeks will want to stick around for another year and play on a team that will be no where near as talented as this year team.
I have a feeling you are right about Meeks. Look at Christmas (Syracuse) who had a great senior season last year and was still picked in the second round.

........As far as being the GM of a professional basketball team, I will agree that I'm not front office material. I'm going to guess you're not either if you're arguing with me on a message board.....
Sentences like the one above make reading this board so great.
Nice one Gun!
