...to the welcome, albeit expected, turn of events. This occurred to me seeing the totally misleading reports on the CBSsports site, as well as the aforementioned ESPN crawlers that damn by ommission. It is painfully obvious that there are mediots who are loathe to give up on their anti-Carolina agendas.

Granted, all they can do now is
1) bitch and moan and continue to blame, as opposed to admitting they were wrong all along.
2) purposely drag it out by refusing to print/broadcast the simple obvious truth that there are NO charges against Roy's program, thus perpetuating their myths

As Auburn learned in the (totally invented) Cam Newton "scandal", the NCAA is loathe to come out and say an issue is closed --- it is sadly up to the school to get the word out on that, and it can continue to hurt recruiting until they do. Hell, Gene Chizic actually publicly confronted an NCAA spokeswoman at a press conference demanding that they issue a final conclusion in that case. Eventually the NCAA (in an unprecedented move) made a statement that the Newton allegations were "little more than internet rumors and innuendo", but the longer that takes, the more damage is done, and there are many who continue to believe the allegations were valid.

I HOPE UNC gets out in front and goes public, confronts accusers, and calls out media outlets who distort the truth. However I have a hard time believing UNC PTBs want to do that, what with the women's hoops issues. Fair enough... but Roy sure as hell needs to do that.

The NCAA is not going to issue a statement saying this is over nor will the school, it isn't over until the punishment is handed out. We can know that the men's BB and FB are not going to be individually hit but neither side is going to publically want to say that so this thing can play out smoothly.

But make no mistake, the word is out and another program trying to tell a recruit that UNC will now have post season bans, scholly losses, banners down ect will look like a fool.

Truth is those staffs that have been telling recruits that were interested in us that we would get bans and scholly losses ect already look like fools in those kids eyes. Now those same kids can ask those staffs, why did YOU LIE TO ME ABOUT UNC?

I believe the COI (Comm on Infractions) isn't going to come up with too much to get "exercised" about in the ANOA.

That was my point. The school isn't in a position to say much given the women's hoops situation. What does need to happen is Roy going directly to/thru the media to get the message out that any punishment of men's basketball is off the table and call out the negative recruiters for the liars they are.
