Yes I was surprised at the onside kick. It was a most unwelcome sight but should it have been? Trick plays are often used in big rivalries. We have not been returning kickoffs all year why have so few men on the front of a kick. I thought after the first onside kick they were going to try again since there was so much empty space at front of defense. I would prefer to treat a rivals kickoffs as an attempt at a trick and put all hands team out there since we refuse to return kicks. The poor special teams play practically make the game much more competitive than it deserved to be. We scored on every possession but one. The fake punt and onside kick took 2 possessions away from us and I seriously doubt Drake would have thrown the interception if we had started at the 25.
