I've never seen Dungeons and Dragons being played, never mind owning the game. Isn't that game for an older generation though? I'd figure everyone who played that back in the day would be voting for the crappier older shows and not a current show like GoT.
Never played D&D, or know anyone that did. Never saw GoT either. But I did vote for some newer shows along with the old "crappy" ones.
I played D&D in my youthy years. Never seen GoT though. Haven't paid for movie channels in years because I already watch more television than I should.
I played D&D when I was young, and am interested in GoT, but will wait until it's ended it's run and binge watch for a month or so when it hits Netflix or Amazon Prime.
It (probably) won't ever hit either of those because it's HBO.
Yep, but HBO does have some of their stuff on demand though. I've been thinking about rewatching The Sopranos.
Basically all of their stuff is On Demand with the HBO app. That's how I went back and watched The Pacific and Newsroom

I was a little surprised given the average age of the board. They always say seniors are the most likely group to vote in elections, so I guess that includes TV tournaments as well.
Out of curiosity I looked up Lonesome Dove on IMDb bc I had no idea what it was. IMDb is crediting that show w having ONLY FOUR episodes in 1989. Please tell me I'm missing something here. Mini series or not idk even know how this show qualified. $henanigans at its best.

Dang, saw this too late. Sorry, I'll get it next round. I suppose there's nothing wrong with voting for shows you know almost nothing about. We do it with real people in elections all the time -- Register of Deeds, Commisioner of Agriculture, Water Conservation Board - Ward Three...
Agreed. Everyone seems to be enjoying the tournament except for that douche poster who complained about @heelz2345 showing his votes.
I enjoy TWD, but I wouldn't call it one of the best. Just too inconsistent over its run. The farm stuff was way too drawn out, they chickened out on the Negan cliffhanger, they gave the Governor 8 more episodes than they needed, and for every awesome episode (of which there are a number), there are about 4 or 5 where not a lot happens. Just too many weaknesses for me to vote for it in that matchup. If it went against some of the others, I could have voted for it, but not here. That's just me though
It does only have 4 episodes, but each episode is about 1 hr 35 min each. Stranger Things made it to the tournament with 8 (so far), with their episodes being on average about 48 min each, so they had approximately the same amount of air time, just for the sake of putting that out there. While I really enjoy Daredevil, I personally voted for LD because I think it has stood the test of time. Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones, Danny Glover, Diane Lane, Chris Cooper and more all give great performances and it just has an epic sense of scale while feeling very personal. Maybe this is because it's only four episodes, but I didn't really have any weak moments to point to in LD, while Daredevil had just a few things in season 2 that weighed it down for me (not the Punisher stuff though, because that was awesome). It was just a bad matchup for Daredevil for me, I probably would have voted for it against close to half of the other shows.

Yea you right. In my mind I wanna say "..but stranger things has signed on for another season", but that doesn't hold any water bc it could be a bust. I was only 4 when LD came out so maybe that's why I've never heard of it but if it's good as y'all say it is maybe I'll try to find it somewhere.

Yeah, it's a good watch, granted, you have to like westerns but it's very solid. One of Duvall's best imo
Have you read the comics? Just out of curiosity. I read about the first 100, a friend of mine had them downloaded somewhere, but only to that point.

Nah, I wouldn't say that, it is interesting the differences in there though. The one thing the show has over the comics for sure is Daryl. Daryl doesn't even exist in the comics, which is crazy considering how vital he is to the show
The amount of love Daryl gets has made me not like the character. The only time I like him on screen now is when him and Rick are together. Regardless of my feelings for him, I think he should have been killed by Negan. His character arc can't advance at this point. No need to keep him around if you can't advance his story. Unless he is going to hook up with Carol it's time for him to go.
I think they can go ahead and kill Daryl off as well. W the emergence of Dwight he can take on Daryl's role, so to speak. I've never read the comics either but I hear Dwight is like Daryl in those.
That is fair, I think the writers are a little stuck with him because there isn't a blueprint for him, so they give him stuff that other characters might do which then in turn weakens those character arcs

I know I'm one of the older dudes that voted for Lonesome Dove, but I loved Daredevil, particularly the first season. LD is just one of those iconic shows that you can watch multiple times and enjoy. It is worth watching just for the lines that Duvall and Jones throw at each other. You can probably pick up a copy on DVD pretty cheaply because it's so old. Definitely worth a look, IMO.
I didn't think there was anything in spoiler territory up there. But yeah I agree with your take there, Daryl will be around a while
