OOTB's Political Thread . ..

I've had my fill and I knew that soon after the election, either way, win or lose, my days here were numbered. To the victor belong the spoils so this is as good a time as any for me to make a hasty departure.

These next four years are going to be like a nightmarishly long episode of the Jerry Springer Show with this message board sort of serving as the studio audience. Donald! Donald! Donald!

In fact, if we examine it closely enough, we will see that this whole Donald Trump anomaly in the political realm has managed to fill a cultural niche left vacant when Mr. Springer decided to hang things up in 2018. Welcome to the show and what better time for me to head for the nearest exit.

Adieu.

Im surprised you came back for the for the backlash of your 4 years of piss-poor comments. You and your friends called us cult members (when actually yall were closer to a cult than any group in our history). Yall never praised a fuggin thing Biden or Cumala did during their time in office. All yall ever ranted and raved about what was Trump. Yall were and still are petrified of the man. Most board conservatives never could understand lefties fascination with everything Trump. Never was there a time when something went sideways was it NOT Trumps fault. Everything was Trumps fault. Now you run away. Fuggin punk.

More info on how the Electoral college C means non-swing states are ignored:

Dave Wasserman: "across the seven battleground states, the '20-'24 swing towards Trump was ~3.1 pts. Across the other 43 states (+DC), it was ~6.7 pts."

And they're still tallying votes, but turnout went up in Swing states, while going slightly down in non-swing states.

All that attn, $, and focus exclusively on the swing states resulted in higher turnout and slightly different preferences.

another opportunity to say how much I love Megyn Kelly...and how much I hate hollyweird weirdos, especially this celeb wannabe;

technically KG, you disgusting and irrelevant scuzzball, eat shit and die.

It happens in all elections, on besides, but in this one there were lots of people who voted Trump, then skipped the rest of the ballot, hence all the swing state dem senators.

There were 3 types of Trump's voters, broadly.

1. The folks described above who skipped the rest of the ballot. These are low-info, ignorant voters not serious about government or elections. They would vote for any repub option.

2. People who dislike Trump but dislike Kamala even more. They want traditional Republican / conservative (or religious-right) policy at all cost. They admit Trump is a POS but are afraid of liberal policy, some are simply misogynistic or racist.

3. Cult members. They believe in pet-eating, bleach injection, pizza gate, presidential hurricane models, "concepts of plans", not releasing taxes, pressuring States to find votes, election denying before a vote is even cast.

So are you low-info & ignorant, agreeing that Trump is a narcissistic, divisive, policy-less POS, or in the Cult?

cult members are those who have absorbed the prejudicial party line completely and post summary judgements, such as the above, based on said party line and not based on facts in evidence, They are almost exclusively TDS victims.

I've had a NC superior court judge here hunting with me since Thursday. It's amazing how really bad libs are.
I don't hang with any particular media outlet, I just pick up on some of this and some of that. This evening for example I watched a 60 minutes story about the dems losing the election.

There are two .things I've observed since the election One is that the dems try to hang their defeat on anything and everything but the obviously correct reason...that they were just wrong. The other is that out of nothing but pure vindictiveness and defiance, they are going to once again try to throw stumbling blocks against whatever Trump tries to achieve. They do this in spite of what's good for the country and in spite of the exceedingly clear message from the voters that that obstructionist attitude and support for the clearly wrong path we have been on is exactly why Trump got elected.

Some things will never change.

Still sour grapin’, huh?

Amen. This election was a referendum on Dim policies yet Dims are too dim to see it, instead blaming their loss on everything but their policies. Their sheer arrogance can’t be overstated.

The Harris-Walz campaign paid Oprah $1 million to make a couple of appearances supporting her candidacy. Imagine that. I guess that how they managed to outspend the Trump-Vance campaign by a half a billion dollars in ad money and still lose. They tried their best to buy the election. Thank goodness it didn’t work.

We really do need campaign finance reform.

@prlyles @blazers @Heels Noir @strummingram @DaveChapelle @joeydavid @What Would Jesus Do? The Harris campaign could use a few dollars. $1B wasn't enough.
Yeah, it's beyond conception that they raised over a billion dollars, but still ended up in debt. A huge chunk of it was on staff. And, of course, it comes out that people like OOOprah weren't doing their bidding out of the goodness of their hearts and the "good" of the country.

Scary to think how she would have managed things if in office.

How are we feeling about Citizens United now?

this elon musk influence in the trump orbit, or whatever, is a bit strange.
Dims loved Musk and his brilliant inventions until he dared to resist this administration in their attempts to censor conservative speech. Now he’s a pariah. Just like RFK Jr. He dared to disagree with Dims on a couple of issues and they turned on him like a pack of dogs.

They were able to get bad bills like the IRA passed with a razor thin margin because Pelosi made sure that all the Dims toed the party line and voted in lockstep. Any independent thinkers in their party were vilified. They are the threat to Democracy, not Trump. By projection, they would have you believe otherwise.

“A New York judge said Wednesday that 10 employees fired by the New York City Department of Education for refusing the COVID-19 vaccine must be reinstated with back pay.”

“A Catholic woman who was fired for refusing the COVID-19 vaccine was awarded close to $13 million in damages after suing her former employer, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.”

At least common sense is prevailing in some cases. Still more to come hopefully.

No different than Trump. Until he came down the escalator all loved him.
