OT: Texas / Charlie Strong

Did anyone watch the Texas / Notre Dame game Saturday night? I had a feeling Notre Dame would win, but I thought it would be a lot closer. I didn't expect a blowout. I think Charlie Strong is a good coach, but he may not be given the time he needs to rebuild this program, especially if they continue to look as bad as they did Saturday night. With their administration and fan base, Strong may be in over his head. He needs to start winning quickly.

ND curb stomped the Horns. Some Horns fans still blame it all on Mack. Others think that it will be in his 3rd year that Strong will show what he can do at Texas.

While there is now no call for his head, if OU were to beat the snot out of Texas, which stumbles back to 5-7, I would guess many would be demanding Strong's head for Thanksgiving.

i imagine texas will give him enough time to allow nc head coach chizick to build a winning record before they steal him away and start the cycle all over again.

seriously texas isn't going to stand for too many more national tv trounces like sat.

I think he's probably done by years end. They won't give him the time he needs. I never thought Texas was the place for him.

I agree...Hell he kicked about 15 players out of the program time he got there...Dude needs at least 4 or 5 years to get it going...

sure hope he is not done by year end ... obviously, he needs more time ... thought and still think he will get the job done

By next year, he'll have that defense at least in the Top 30. I'm sure it's taking time for him to build relationships with Texas high school coaches. I envision by late next season or by 2017, he'll have that team looking like an SEC-type team that plays suffocating defense and then plods along on offense.
