Actually, I don't think they shut the Patriots off. They said it wasn't severe enough for that. The Pats cheat. That is just what they do. They are good though.

i appreciated the fact that even as average as their wide receivers are, their offense still manages to get guys open...and it's not because their running game is strong...it's truly about design and attacking weaknesses.

that play design on the td to chandler was brilliant...i have never seen that before.

Tomlin should have pulled his team off in protest until they fix this crap.
Screw the Fake-triots.

Hard to believe this latest example of pure shadiness by that organization was anything less than intentional. I'm not a Chris Collinsworth fan by any means, but you could even see his reaction when that started coming out...he literally didn't know what to say. The entire Pats organization - top to bottom - is a complete sham. The instance last night HAS to be a blatant, intentional shot at the NFL League Office by the Pats organization -- it's a slap in their face knowing there isn't a damn thing that is going to happen to them about it (hence, the BS statement the NFL put out last night about an hour after the game (read below):

The statement from NFL spokesman Michael Signora -- “In the first quarter of tonight’s game, the Pittsburgh coaches experienced interference in their headsets caused by a stadium power infrastructure issue, which was exacerbated by the inclement weather. The coaches’ communications equipment, including the headsets, is provided by the NFL for both clubs use on game day. Once the power issue was addressed, the equipment functioned properly with no additional issues.”

Yet -- pretty funny this morning with this coming from the Steelers camp -- “This is the kind of stuff that happens to the visiting team in Gillette Stadium all the time,” the article said. “From the start of the game through the opening 14 minutes of the first quarter, the Steelers’ coaches’ headsets were receiving the Patriots Radio Network broadcast of the game. The broadcast was so loud that the Steelers coaches were unable to communicate, and the NFL rule is that if one team’s headsets are not working the other team is supposed to be forced to take their headsets off. It’s what the NFL calls the Equity Rule. Strangely enough, whenever an NFL representative proceeded to the New England sideline to shut down their headsets, the Steelers headsets cleared. Then as the representative walked away from the New England sideline, the Steelers’ headsets again started to receive the Patriots game broadcast.”

I am not one to be a conspiracy theorist, but c'mon...it's time to stop drinking the kool-aid.

Hahahaha. I can see a Pats staffer sitting by some control center but also watching the NFL personnel and just turning a knob as he walks onto the sideline...and then turning it again as he walks away. In my head, the picture I've built of that is making me lol.

I think all the Pats haters need to have a look at this site.

Headsetgate (ongoing) Modified: 05/05/2015">

TEAM: All 32 NFL Teams

SEVERITY:
4-cameras.png

SUMMARY: it's a common complaint around the NFL. In late, close games, the helmet communicators of visiting teams suddenly "malfunction" and stop working. It has been accepted as standard practice in the league. Are you on the road and the game is close? Then you are going to have problems with your headset.

In recent years, the Patriots have accused the Colts of doing it and the Jaguars have made the same charge of the Patriots. The Redskins accused the Buccaneers of disabling their headsets, and Tampa Bay accused Dallas. The Giants openly bragged about doing it way back in 1956. The charges go on and on and on.

VICTIM: The entire league

PUNISHED? No

As you can see, the radio interference thing happens at most stadiums. But people only get upset when it's the Pats.

In MLB, "everyone used steroids" too...but the only ones everyone cared about were Bonds, McGuire, Aroid, and Clemmens. So - should the Pats have an asterisk? lol

Just like the stupid footballs, it's another NFL head scratcher. Seems to me the NFL could set up and monitor all closed circuit radios at every stadium. Just get 2 refs- one listens to one side, one to the other. If either side goes on the blink, disconnect the other.

But seriously though- how can I walk through my house and make a clear phone call to China with nary a wire attached to my phone or the other, and the NFL can't get direct, closed circuit radios with wires to work correctly?

Bingo.

I'm still convinced that SpyGate cheated the Panthers out of a Super Bowl. In the opening quarter and much of the first half, everything and I mean EVERYTHING the Panthers tried to run was immediately shut down. I don't think they even got a first down until midway through the second quarter. And their offense was on a hot streak when they made the SB run that season. Hell, even Jake Delhomme was playing out of his mind. But the Pats seemed to know exactly where every play was going... coincidence? I think not. It has been reported that the Panthers went to the locker room at half-time saying "they know our plays". Even plays that were added just for the SB game and had never been run before were snuffed.
Turns out that during the week of practice it was rainy and the Pats complained to the NFL that their outdoor practice field was too muddy, so they got to practice indoors at Reliant Stadium - site of the game itself! Meanwhile, the Panthers had to continue practicing outdoors where it's much easier to get spied on. How convenient for Belli-Cheat and gang, wasn't it?

According to the recent ESPN article, the NFL knew that the Pats had spied on many teams (maybe 40 or more games worth), not just the one Jets game that they tried to say was all that happened. If true, why would the Pats get such a heavy fine for one game's worth of videoing signals? Seems excessive to me. The NFL even destroyed evidence, for gawds sake, in order to protect the Shield. All 3 of their first SB wins are suspect, IMO.

The Pats are probably responsible for Janet's wardrobe malfunction as well.... LOL

That's fine for you to think that and I know a lot of people feel the same way. But for me, I have to have proof they would have lost otherwise for me to believe they weren't the better team...with the better coach...and the better QB.

If this latest Spygate goes to court they better keep the judge away from Robert Kraft and his parties.

Here's the thing about the Patriots: Every single thing that they are accused of doing should have been controlled by the NFL in the first place.

As far as video taping signals, that should be legal. It can be done from the stands, so therefore not preventable. Everyone can do it and if a coaching staff is too lazy to change signals week to week, then that's their problem.

Someone sneaking in a locker room? Are you kidding me? If I am an NFL owner, I have my own security guard in my teams locker room 24-7. Think how much cash some of those guys walk around with- how does a locker room go unmonitored? So if the Pats ran some kid in to steal playbooks, then shame on the other team for ever letting that kid through the door.

Deflated balls? Child please. If the integrity of the ball is so important, then why is control ever relinquished? Even baseball understands this for Pete's sake.

Look, I don't really like the Patriots. Belechek is an asshat of monumental proportions and I am enjoying watching him squirm. But all of the stuff that the Patriots did or were alleged to have done should have been policed by the NFL in the first place. Every player and every team in professional team sports will cheat at any and every opportunity. The Patriots just had the nuts to push the envelope. Who cares?

I agree with all of that except the assumption that Belichick is squirming. He doesn't give a damn what other people think. I promise you, he's not squirming.

The NFL has no credibility and the Patriots just do whatever they want to win at any cost. I also suspect the referees are as corrupt as the NBA referees were when they were taking gambling kickbacks a few years back. There is no way they did not know their footballs were under inflated.

Did you see his recent interview after last night's game. Dude is whining like a 4 year old. It's great.

Belichick is almost as big an asshat as K.

So if the NFL has no credibility and the refs are on the take, why be upset at the Pats for doing whatever it takes to win?

valid argument, but just saying.... if they did video practices of their Super Bowl opponents and basically know every formation/play before it's even run on both sides of the ball, don't you think that could benefit them enough to win each of those games by 3 points?

Slinger, you are acting just like a liberal. "Everybody else does it so we can do it too, but even worse"

That's the thing though...they're not any worse. In fact, the numbers show they're not as frequent an offender as everyone wants to believe.and they're in the lower half of NFL teams in numbers of times caught cheating.

I'm not for cheating. I just want to know why everyone hates the Pats for it but has nothing to say about the other 31 teams in the league.

Because Bellichick is a smug asshat and the Pats win.

I just like the entertainment.

Why be upset? Because they are ruining the NFL.
No no. The NFL is ruining the NFL. The latest example? This new dumb, longer extra point.

As for the Patriots....all of this nonsense has made me like them infinitely more than I did. It cracks me up how so many people get SO PISSED at the Patriots. I didn't know people cared so much about the NFL anyway...

But please tell me more about how radio static caused the Steelers to (inexplicably) just not cover Gronk on pass plays. Dude was just chilling by himself out wide and Brady is like oh, here you go Gronk.

Right? You know my stance on professional sports teams. I think having an affiliation with a pro ball club is silly. But all the Pats hate has made me want to buy up paraphernalia, paint my face and sing New England fight songs while tailgating in Foxboro.

Thats not a stretch for a nuthugging UVa fan who pulls for the Red Sox.

Just sayin

I guess it's because the Pats keep getting caught at it.

So, you know how I was trying to sell those UVa tickets, right? Well, I was selling them for Pops because his knee problems prevented him from going. So both my family and my sister took our families over to Mom and Pop's house, tailgated with fried chicken, threw football around with the kids in the yard, the whole nine. Figuring it would lift Pop's spirits, you know? He gets pretty beat up when old age rears its head and prevents him from doing what he wants to do. So as you can imagine, the day was terrific...until 12 seconds left. Damn. Great game to watch though. I was really impressed with UVa. For the first time in a decade, at least if they lose they might be entertaining. Good for them and London. Great guy.

I saw Papi hit #500 the other night. But that's about the only thing I know has happened this MLB season.
