I understand that this is going to be a very unpopular thread, but I believe it needs to be said none the less. UNC vs N C State is a football game. It is a very important one for both teams and our respective fan bases. I am not tone deaf to the absolute hatred that exist between many fans from both schools. However, it is a game, no matter how important. I understand the wounds that have been inflicted, both perceived and otherwise by N C State fans and alumni on THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA, but I draw the line at painting a fan base with a broad brush. I am sure that there are State fans that deserve the vitriol that has been prevalent on this and other sites leading into this game. However, you can not paint a fan base with such a wide brush. One of the finest Gentlemen that I know is an N C State fan and yes we have had a lot of good natured banter this week, but it has been good natured and void of the hatred that I have seen posted on this and other sites. No matter who wins this game, ISIS will still be trying to destroy our way of life and our world will still be in chaos. Enjoy the game! Go Tar Heels beat the hell out of State, but please jeep things in perspective and leave the hatred out of it.

There are some very fine people that are State fans. But kind of do wonder about some of those folks at the games and on-line. Not sure how many years ago it was and could be 15 years or so, but some fights broke out and a lot of them between East Carolina fans and State fans.

I moved to FL in the Jax area and every year there is this huge rivalry game between the Gators and the Dawgs, and people tailgate, both sides, in the parking lots for days ahead of the game with all sorts of team colors and paraphernalia. No fights. No violence.

Makes me wonder a little.

But sure, some great people are NC State fans. Some relatives of many of us, and some salt of the earth types. But the fanbase needs to deal with some of the yahoos and explain life to them.

Abraham asked God not to destroy Sodom if He could find 50 righteous men in the city, to avoid killing the innocent with the wicked. Then Abraham kept taking the number down, eventually to 10.

The city was ultimately destroyed.

Sodom is MooU and its fans. I'm sure there are 9 righteous Wuffies, but that teeny minority cannot redeem the filth of the rest.

There are some good State folks. But all in all, they deserve the broad brush paint of "disgusting human beings."

I once watched a 19-year-old girl in a Carolina blue shirt walk through an NC State tailgate to attempt to locate some of her State fan friends from high school, and she had trash thrown on and at her. A 19-year-old girl!

Hatred so consumes Moo fans that it reduces most of them to one step above animals.

Breaking it down to the lowest common denominator, what our nc state family members, friends, co-workers and neighbors say to our face in casual conversation and on-line are two different things. Can be said about some of us as well.

Not really true. I'm not one of the ones who's "scared" to go back to Carter-Finley but even I cannot deny that the way they treat people is deplorable. You just do not do some of the things they do.

I'd say to my aunt, uncle, and cousins exactly what I'd say online: "Y'all should focus on your own team and stop obsessing over UNC. It makes it so your program can never succeed."

Everybody probably knows a decent state fan or two but the venom spewing from what is on crack ride is beyond belief. I have seen posts here wanting to run up the score, calling Doreen a sob and such but have yet to see one wishing injury on a player. I hope Marquise throws for over 300 and Switzer breaks two punt returns. Those two in particular seem to be the target of most of the posts there. I am sure the players read some of that crap and use it as extra motivation to put a beat down on the pack that makes the duke game look mild.
I have some friends who went to state that I cannot discuss sports with anymore because they toss out comments about the "scandal" that they probably think are funny but are so far off what actually happened it is crazy.

i didn't say THN11 did it. But, yes, quite a few people act differently on a FANatical website than they do in real life. I would tend to think most people follow that logic. Maybe you misunderstood what I was saying?

If you can't go to college, go to State. That is all.

If there are any good MooU fans, I haven't met them. Name for me ONE crowd control incident in the past 30 years, outside of the Md. fans doing something to Boozer's mom, that didn't involve MooU.

NC state is a shit hole. I went to a game a few years back and watch them throw drinks and food at Carolina fans. Openly cuss Carolina fans in front of kids, etc. also been quite a few incident of vandalism to opposing cars around carter Finley. I wouldn't take my kid to a game there wearing Carolina gear, that's how pathetic they are.

"Why can't we all just get along?" Rodney King...the vitriol is 99-1 wolfers to Heels fans. But, in the spirit of the original post, I will look to buy the first wolfer I next see some bojangles and a case of milwaukees best beer - nothing but the best for state fans!

Well, robbie, you tried.

The Heels and the Fack played a fantastic extra-inning baseball game in the ACC Tournament in Greensboro a few years back. If I recall correctly, the game went past midnight. UNC won but a few Moo fans hang around after the game so they could congratulate our players. That was a classy gesture.

Unfortunately, those folks seem to be in the minority in their fan base. Some of them are absolute loons, including about 90% of the posters on Pack Pride. Think about how many of them are actually combing through the 5+ million documents made public from the Wainstein investigation. Five million! Or the guy that tweeted the time (35 to 7) every day for a year. That is some seriously abnormal behavior that suggests underlying mental health issues. I'm not even trying to be funny or insulting when I say that. It's very troubling.

I've been to exactly one game in Carter-Finley and will probably never go back. The crime of applauding our team (who was winning) was apparently punishable by having cups and ice thrown at our group of four, including two college-age women. It's despicable behavior and enough people have voiced similar experiences to know it wasn't an isolated incident.

I will never root for a player to get hurt, but otherwise I wish nothing but bad things for their sports programs and their fans. I hope they lose every game in every sport they play, forever and ever amen.
