Pinson next year.

He just might if both Berry and Bradley leave and Knox goes elsewhere.

The Horror! The Horror!

Depending on the roster I can see about 12pts/gm, along with the usual 5 rbs, 5 asst.

Yup .. Theo will do what he needs to do and like FTH said it will most definitely depend on the team he has around him. (Some of) You guys rag on him about his shot and scoring ability but you really need to cut him some slack because he has had to deal with some injuries and his best is yet to come. Dude actually has a pretty sweet stroke that he needs to be able to get consistent with. Theo has more pro game in him than some give him credit for. Very athletic .. very quick to a gap .. looks to pass for the easy shot before taking something outside his game. Reminds me a bit of maybe a Danny Green / Jackie Manual cross type player in some ways. Athleticism is something Roy looks for as the glue or project player that will hang around for the long haul and do what needs doing .. guess y'all didn't notice how after he got back in game shape he was almost as much a point guard as JB .. at least as far as initiating offense in the half court. Gave JJ and JB free reign on the wings and gave defenses fits at times .. and he can be a pretty good defensive player on the college 1, 2,3 and maybe even 4 players .. and could surely give an NBA 1 or 2 guard problems from time to time. I'm on the Theo wagon big time for his senior season and doubt the banner would be hung for this past season without him. jmho

I for 1 do not rag on him about his shot. It does need work. Nobody in their right mind feels confident about a 3 he puts up. It's more of a " I hope it goes in" not "I know that's going in. Everything else about his game I love.

If Theo gives us that stat line Canadian posted plus no TO's....I'd take it...that and it causes other teams distress.

Here are his numbers per 40 minutes:

10.2 points
7.8 rebounds
6.2 assists
1.4 steals
0.3 blocks
3.0 fouls
2.5 TOs

He averaged 23.8 minutes this season. It's reasonable to assume that he can handle 30+ next season. So without improvement, we should see these numbers (based on 30 mpg):

7.7 points
5.9 rebounds
4.7 assists
1.1 steals
0.2 blocks
2.3 fouls
1.9 TOs

To put it kindly, his shooting was mediocre this season:

2pt = .453
3pt = .237
FT = .702

The good news is that if he can improve on those numbers, he should easily be good for 10 points per game, if not more.

If he improves overall by a normal amount, I see 12/7/5.

Amen, Mike. I'll take a measly 8/5/5 and great senior leadership all day long.
He'll do that well just by playing more minutes. He'll do a good bit better on points and rebounds just by improving a normal amount and working hard on his shooting.

Theo basically has to work on the same things he always has to work on. Shooting and focus. He had flashes this year of doing well on both of those things. So we have reason to think he can make it happen if he gets a full off-season to work on it, and a full season to display it.

Most of us have thought Theo could have an NBA career ahead of him from the day he showed up. But injuries, shooting and focus have hurt his chances. It looks like he may have the injury problems behind him. He needs to show that, and correct the other issues in his final year if he wants a shot at that pro career. If he can do that, he could easily be a 1st round draft pick.

Agreed we don't win the title without Theo. He will never be a prolific scorer, but his timely buckets usually come at crucial moments (see the baseline drive vs. UK and the big three vs. Oregon, both late in the game at crucial moment). His passing, defense, leadership are all top notch. Yeah he needs to work on the shot but I believe he can definitely improve in that area. His shot on free throws looks to have already gotten more consistent at end of the season.

I think his averages will be something like 12/7/4, if he stays healthy and plays 28-30 MPG. I think he'll look to drive more and look to score more at the rim/FT line now that JJ, Kennedy, and Isaiah are gone.

ETA: he'll also be a very good multi-positional defender, a dynamo who amps up the team's intensity and keeps them loose with his antics. He will play a very key role next year, even more so than this year, and his role this year grew more and more significant as the season progressed.

I bet he improves to 12-14 ppg/7-8 rebs/4-6 assists

I think this is certainly achievable with normal UNC improvement, health, and dedication on his part! His leadership is without question already and since his mates are leaving, I expect him to ramp it up even more! He has a sweet mid-range, finishes well around the rim and, when he remains upright, he shoots pretty well from long distance.

Looking at the impact he had whenever he got on the court, please imagine what he might do when healthy and if he had a full year of play with his team mates!

TP influences the game and this cannot be undervalued!
