wow I think Allen could definitely be categorized as a star college player. He's also very athletic. I don't have his stats available but I'm pretty sure he averaged close to 20 pts last season. That gets you in "star" category in college. He also will most likely be a mid first rd pick in the draft soooo yeah.

If he's a mid 1st rounder it will be in 2018, he's staying all 4. When he didn't go last year I took that as a strong indication that he's not leaving early.

As to stars, take a peak at JBII's numbers for the last nine games last season. He is a star.

...and he does it in a true team concept and plays real defense.

FWIW most people at Duke think this is his last year. Looks like he is on track to graduate after 3 so presumably if his draft status after this year looks the same as last he could be a late1st rounder and have his degree in hand.

Not impressed by Platek. He shot 37% from 3 on a team filled with multiple D1 prospects. In EYBL games, his 3-point % was 38.5%. He's a decent shooter, but his numbers don't reflect some sharpshooter that's absolutely going to rip the nets all season long. He's not Allen, he's not Calabria... Bobby Frasor I could possibly see, I just don't think we should have high expectations for someone that hasn't proven a whole lot on the high school scene.

I hope Platek does amazing, but remember we are only seeing his makes in these videos. They do not put out highlight reels of mistakes and misses.

If he is rated low, there are reasons for it. He is not a JJ Reddick who went under the radar.

He has good form on his shot and what seems like a relatively quick release. That is why I am hoping he can help us out a ton as we struggled from 3, and while his %s really aren't too spectacular in HS (solidly good) he has the potential to make it a lot better with a solid form.

Edit: Though Steph Curry went under the radar... so... you're saying there's a chanceeeee!
