Assuming? We've already been kicked-down to #2. That didn't take long! lol

No way Tennessee is a one seed.

UVA, Dook, and zags are set 1 seeds. I think the final 1 seed is between Inc, Uk, Michigan state

If the Vols beat UK and then Auburn to win the SEC tournament, they will get a #1. Same for UK. Sparty is going to be a #2.

We will not be matched against either Dook or UVA.

We need...
Tenn to beat UK
Auburn to beat Tenn

And wouldn't hurt..
Michigan to beat Mich St.

If UK gets a 1 seed playing in Louisville, we do not want any part of that region. It will be 95% UK fans in that arena for every game they play.

My opinion on the number one seeds and I know everyone has been waiting. I agree dook and uva are locks. I mean dook really didn’t need to win another game and they would’ve backed into a one seed. Zags will be but probably shouldn’t due to playing in a weak conference so who gets the last one definitely should be the heels. The heels won’t get it for two reasons I agree with some the committee doesn’t want to give three one seeds to a conference and if Kensucky wins they have the advantage due to beating us. Probably need to pull for Tennessee (like I was anyway) to win. So probably gonna be dook, uva, zags and kensucky.

Pitiful showing by Tennessee fans in the SEC tournament it’s in Nashville and BBN must’ve purchased all the tickets.

The south is played in Louisville. The midwest in Kansas city. Most beackets i have seen have uk in the midwest.

Still too early to determine anything. Big 10 winner, UK, Gonzaga, and UNC will all be in the running for a #1 seed. Only locks right now, imo, are Dook and UVA.

Exactly but I just don’t see them moving zags off one line.

Also - no way Michigan or Tennessee gets a one seed over UNC. We just lost by one point to what will be the clear overall 1 seed.

Michigan and Tennessee are barely top ten teams and we are / were top 3 No way do those two teams jump us if another poll were to come out. No way do they have a better resume.

No matter what happens those two teams (Mich and Tenn) will be behind us on Sunday.

People overhype conference tourney games as more important than regular season games. They give teams a chance to strengthen their case, but they don’t give teams with a lesser body of work a magic ability to leapfrog better teams with better full year resumes.

The committee will display this again tomorrow like they have every year. People ask “why didn’t team X get a 1 - seed? They won their conference tourney!” A: “because they finished ranked #8 or 10 and finished third in their conference, played over 18-20 games, 3 months, not one weekend.”

They do it every year. UK fans buy up as many tickets as they can as soon as tickets are on sale.

And it will be home cooking big time.
uk won’t be in that region to play in Louisville.

Duke and uva will be higher 1 seeds so they will be kept closer to home. If UK is a 1 seed they almost certainly will be in Midwest.

I mean it will be home cooking for UK. There is a history of that for UK in Louisville.

We also do not want to be #1 in Louisville with UK #2.

So would you agree now that Carolina gets that #1 since Kensucky just lost to Tn?

Hope they wouldn't put a 2 seed in their own state.
Here’s how I think it goes down:
Duke overall 1 in South (Louisville) region.
uva second 1 in East (DC) region
Zags third 1 in west region.
Heels or MSU as 4th 1 in Midwest (kc) region.

I think we are locked at 4 or 5 overall now. Which likely puts us in Midwest, likely against MSU or Uk.
I’d rather face Uk than Tennessee. MSU doesn’t scare me a lot.

It’d be a total outrage if they somehow send UK to Louisville. I don’t see that happening

The only way I would be happy with a 2 seed is if they made the stupid pick of giving MSU a #1. If thats the case put us in their bracket and lets eat their lunch like we always do. Roy owns Izzo.

I think Kainsuck lost their 1 seed this afternoon. Pretty sure that Vols win was a boost for us. Even if MSU wins tomorrow & gets the last #1, I'd love to be the 2 in that region. They don't scare me, plus they tend to flame out early just like UVA.

& given their tournament history the last few years it's likely they'd never make it to us....... provided we made it to the Elite 8.

I think TN has a good argument for a #1 seed, if they beat Auburn. The winner of the MSU-Michigan final does, too.

Just my opinion.

I'd like to see us play Tennessee in the FF.

This year more than any other year I can think of a #1 or #2 seeding is not nearly as important as the match ups within the regions. Also it will be important who one plays in the semi final game of the NC which is of course impossible to predict with any accuracy. Tournament is always about match ups but this year the big boys are going to have to go through each other to make it to the FF.
So I really don't care whether we get a 1 or a 2 seed. The committee has a tough job on their hand and as always happens someone is gonna get screwed and someone will be helped along (Duke no doubt).

#1 overall : Dook
#2 : UVA
#3 : UNC
#4 : Gonzaga

#5 : Tenn
#6 : UK
#7 : MSU/ Mich winner
#8 : MSU/ Mich loser
My hope is that we flip with Tennessee. #2 in the region with Gonzaga #1 is preferable to #1 in the region with UK #2, and that goes triple if the region is Louisville.

Is there a precedent for a 2 seed basically playing in their backyard in the regionals, putting the 1 at a disadvantage? I could also see MSU pulling ahead of UK and maybe even Tenn, if they beat Michigan and possibly being the 2 in UNC’s region.

If it happens, you can bet that the #2 regional seed will be either Dook or UK or a Big Ten power.

I want us to get another shot at Ky, we owe them a little something from earlier this season and this team seems to want to pay back a team for a earlier loss. Rather not have to play them in what would be basically a home game for them (in Louisville) but yeah, I want them and Michigan!

WE are not the same team those 2 got wins over early season, we are MUCH IMPROVED! The draw NEVER seems to favor us any way so I say let's face challenge and beat it and march on!

Curious yesterday afternoon, Clark Kellog was trying to sell the idea on CBS that the difference in a #1 and a #2 is very minimal.
Sorry Clark, not what the stats bear out over the years. #1's have an easier path with #2's having the more difficult path in a six game season.
