Solid backcourt.. roys worst ever frontcourt coming up. I predict a ton of small ball.

Think I can make a fairly accurate prediction. The only year that I think is comparable is 2013 when Roy had to go small. This isn't even necessarily a knock on the players coming in as we usually have some of the best frontcours in the nation.

If it's not roys worst frontcourt I will be pleasantly surprised.

What we do know is that Roy will give our freshmen big men as much PT as they can handle early on - to maximize the chances that 1 or 2 of them will be able to handle the load later in the season.

But we also know that if they can't hack it as frosh, he is willing to shift gears.

The last time we did this, we had a bit more size and proven shooting to work with. Sure, Mac was out of position playing the post, but he's what we had. But we also had Reggie and PJ. Giving us more inches and pounds at the 3 and 4 than we are likely to have this season.

Then ------------- Now
Marcus (6'1 157) - Joel (6'0 195)
Dexter (6'3 180) - Kenny (6'4 180)
Reggie (6'7 205) - Brandon (6'5 162)
PJ (6'6 220) ----- Theo (6'6 211)
McAdoo (6'9 230) - Luke (6'8 235)

.
Now that may not be the small ball lineup for this year. So pencil in Jalek, if you like, or maybe Kenny plays SF (at 6'4), or some other combo. Still pretty short, light and, outside of Joel and Theo, rather unproven.

Point being, if at least one of our frosh bigs doesn't come through (or a lot of decent minutes by committee), we are very small.

After the NCAA shafted Henderson, that makes me even less optimistic about Cameron. I realize one is the NCAA and the other is Pitt's call, but it seems like an invitation for Pitt to stand its ground.
