A van down by the river
Gonna start with craft/microbrewery beers. Sure, in some cases it goes too far, but I love going out and having a variety of good beers to chose from.

Also, free wireless hotspots. I envision someday they'll be as prevalent as cell phone coverage, which means wireless providers will have to find another way to make money off us. But until then....

Apple -- I've become one of the Apple nerds. Eagerly awaiting the new watch to see what it can do (never buy 1st gen to let the bugs get worked out)

Fiber internet -- coincides with the ability to "cut the chord" and rely solely on streaming.

I could hijack this thread right here and now.

RH is too cool, though...so I'll stand down. Carry on.
It's going to get hijacked at some point, so you might as well do it.

Speaking of apples and hijacking, does anyone plan to see the new Bourne movie?

I want to...I'm behind on seeing movies, though.

And Apple -- I grew up with everything Windows, but I HATE chords (with a complete passion)...Apple's products always just "worked" wirelessly, and over the years, I've gotten to the point where I can never look back. Just seems to be better quality products, to me.

Take it to the loathe thread, gentlemen.

Personally, I've always found Apple products to be reliable and intuitive. Doesn't mean I'm paying the asking price on their laptops but I own or have owned iPods, iPhones, and iPads.

FitBit (or similar products)

This one would have been on the "hate" thread for me not too long ago. I never understood the things, and figured it was just an overpriced way to see how many steps you take in a day. And a lot of people had them so I figured everyone was just trying to be cool and follow the crowd.

My GF recently got herself a new one, so I got her old one. I now realize all the stuff it can do in addition to step tracking (sleep, water intake, calorie intake, mileage, elevation, heart rate, etc.). Yes, it's pretty much all stuff you could track on your own anyways (except maybe the sleep quality portion and the heart rate) but it's so much easier on the app. I've found that since I started wearing it I've been a lot healthier - in terms of exercise, food/water consumption, and getting proper sleep. Obviously the watch itself doesn't make you any healthier - but when you monitor your "stats" on the app, it makes you want to do better when you see the results right in front of you.

Food trucks

My favorite one, Herban Legend, called it quits a few years ago. They had the most incredible surf and turf burrito of all time: marinated skirt steak, shrimp, truffle fries (!), rice, etc. and some kind of green sauce that was the secret ingredient. If I'm ever on death row I'll request the chef comes out of retirement to make one for me as part of my last meal.

Greenville's favorite food truck (we don't have many) was so successful they opened a brick-and-mortar. And it's delicious.

I am very, very happy someone invented TiVo (for me to record a whole bunch of stuff my best friend suggests but I never watch...so he says I have a DVR simply to record and delete lol....he's correct, as usual).

The other thing I love, love, love is my coloring apps on my iPad. It's relaxing.

And finally..... Pinterest.... It's an addiction.

Holy hell dude, that truck was the absolute best. I was more of a shawarma guy myself, but I digged the burrito, and I don't even like shrimp or any seafood, mind you. That truck used to come over to work every Friday and when that day came, I couldn't focus on work until after lunch. It broke my spirit when it closed.

Oh yeah the shawarma was outstanding, too. There wasn't anything on the menu that wasn't great. They used to come to Triple C Brewing every Thursday night, which is where we had our weekly guys night hangout. No coincidence that when the truck closed down, we stopped having guys night.

I think it's cool that being a nerd or being into geeky things is no longer "uncool" so to speak.

The bad side to it is that it's given rise to those blue haired, no lense glasses wearing, bearded, pansy ass hipsters.

Irby hanging around OOTB trying to tell us what we can and can't poast. That's a great trend.
I figured that was coming after we had a visitor the other day. Maybe we can start a "hijack this thread" thread. That might solve everything.
