The top 3 and 6 of the top 12 PGs over at 247 have already committed. Not that their ratings are good, but it's someplace to start.

Are we waiting for better options to enter the portal, or should we be going after some of those already on the list?

Here's their top remaining guy. Looks pretty solid. Might be more of a shoot-first CG than a natural point, but seems able to handle it.

Shoots well enough, is 6'5, and seems to be from Raleigh. Downside is that his assist-to-turnover ratio isn't good.

They rated Elliot .9400 and put this guy at .9700, FWIW. Not sure why, but height helps.

Here's Ga Tech's Naithan George. I was surprised watching his video how much he reminded me of Elliot. Less flashy passer, but it's hard to bitch about 6.5 assists per game. He may not give me the "got to get this player" vibe, but I think we should check him out. Might be a nice fit.

This kid is from a small school in a mediocre conference, so are we ready to try that experiment again?

Watching his clips, what's clear is that he's fast. And while his 19.5 ppg and 42% from deep scream shoot-first, he also managed to dish out over 4 assists.

Short but quick. Nice passing in these clips with a pretty good assist-to-TO ratio. Apparently is good on the catch and shoot (but not off the dribble), with a consistently good 3pt% over 3 years.

I'm not trolling here but does anyone have confidence that UNC is actually in the running for any of these players? I hope so because HD has had some succes in that area.

Here's my worry.... Several of these guys are sophs. Which suggests they may need development. Something there's little evidence they'll get here.

That assessment may be wrong, but 2 things:
1) if I'm a player who knows he needs development, I should probably go somewhere else; and
2) we should probably go after players who are already developed in ways that clearly fit Hubert's system.

I agree. Also, looks like quality guards in the portal are not at all interested in UNC, not good.

Nick Boyd just visited UNC. Starting PG on a Final Four team.

Ja'Kobi Gillispie just entered the portal. He's leaving Maryland. Was the point guard at Belmont next to Cade Tyson for 2 years. UNC was in contact with him through back channels.

Demary shot 41% on 2 pointers. That is terrible.
Similar fouls per game to Cadeau.

Almost as many turnovers per game as Cadeau.

Low assist numbers.

Wants a big NIL paycheck.

I have watched him live like 20 times since he's been at UGA.
First, he ain't a PG. He is a Combo and whatever "rating" is on potential.

Tre Donaldson (Michigan’s starting PG) just entered the transfer portal

6’2”

11 ppg, 4 apg
shoots 38% from three
This one is intriguing. I'm VERY familiar with Tre.

Came to Auburn as more of a high-D1 football prospect who played basketball --- AU folks were surprised he didn't want to play both. For local comparison, he wasn't as polished in hoops as Ronald Curry, but very athletic.

Initially raw as a PG, but got continually better, to the point of eventually supplanting AIden Holloway (now at bama) as Auburn's starter. Had a nice season at Mich and improved as a shooter.

Probably saw the writing on the wall at Michigan with Cadeau coming, but I would take him in a heartbeat over the other PGs in the Portal right now. Also has some "dog" in him on defense, which mitigates losing that with Eliot walking out the door.

Diunno if he has any interest in us, but I'd sure give him a look.

He wears Elliot's number, has Elliot's hair style, his body language after making a shot, and even his beard.

Are we sure he isn't Elliot?

Joel Berry, Ray Felton, Ty Lawson, et al , say "hi"...
Now them some baddddd boys right there but just about all needed multiple years to grow into the beast they became. Unfortunately NIL, and One and Done recruits aren’t trying to hear that.

There is a new GAME being played! Say what u want about duuk, they have the blueprint and there ain’t nothing a littybitty6ft guard can do about it.

Not a new game at all. Would take any of those "midgets' over anything dook has in the backcourt.

I wonder if Gillispie and Cade have talked. I wonder what Cade told him about his experience here.

Then again, maybe if they team up that will kick start Cade's shooting.

According to On3, the best remaining PGs who aren't too short are Demary from Georgia and Nick Boyd. There's a video of Demary above. Here's one for Boyd.

Boyd makes me think of Marcus Paige.
