Potential of Woods

I definitely have hope he makes more of an impact this year, but my real hope is that he is more under control this year. I saw the flashes, but saw some other things to.

Being more under control will enable him to have more of an impact. If you watch his workout video on TOS, you will see he is working on staying under control and improving that jumper.

Last year it seemed he was playing helter skelter all the time. He's learning to slow down just a bit and pick his spots to really turn on the afterburners. Again, I think he and Brandon are going to show big improvement from their debut year.

Sevenths 3pt percentage dropped every year from Freshman in HS thru Junior. I have not found his Sr. stats yet. A red hot 56% as a Frosh, then 38 and 33 percentage in his next 2 seasons per MaxPreps.

So I am not sure what's up with those numbers. I do hope he shocks me and becomes a respectable (better yet, deadly) 2 point shooter. Time will tell. If healthy he seems to have the quickness to blow by many defenders and get to the rack. I look forward to seeing where and how much his game improves from his offseason work.

Once again Fact: Seventh was playing with nagging injuries all through his freshman year. Very well documented that he told Coach that his body was at 60%. Now the kid has relied on his athletic ability throughout high school. He will be fine. I am excited that I think not Tar Heel fans but other teams are sleeping on him and Jalek ( who is an assasin with the ball ). Nothing but Love for every Tar Heel and our Fans! Go Heels!!!!!!!

He was really the only talent on his HS team and was the focus of everyone who played them once he established his rep early on. He also struggled when someone told him he needed be a PG and tried that beginning in his last AAU season.

I see three factors most likely to help him blossom at UNC:
3. A year of experience
2. Getting healthy
and, yes...
1. Moving off the ball.

Does he have a hitch in his stroke? Yeah, but he can shoot. He's streaky but when he's feelin' it 7th can drain 3 or 4 in a row from deep. And yes, he has the ability to get to the rack like a guy much taller.
