We have a lot of players competing for 120 minutes.

Joel and Cam have already demonstrated that they can play 30+ mpg, game after game.

When healthy, both Theo and Kenny can handle 30 minutes.

That's already more than 120 minutes. And we still have these scholarship guys who will compete for minutes - and 2 or 3 of them will almost certainly get good minutes:

Jalek
Seventh
Kenny
BRob
Andrew
Rush

So . . . by the middle of conference play, how do you see the PT at these positions?

Obviously the big question is how much we will need to go small. We will go small at least some of the time, but how much? If we go small for 10 minutes a game, that gives these shorter players a bit more PT. But it's still a lot of talent competing for limited minutes.

I figured someone would jump in. How about this to get the bidding started:

------- PG SG SF PF TOT
Joel -- 24 06 -- -- 30
Seventh 08 05 -- -- 13
Jalek - 08 06 -- -- 13
Theo -- -- 10 05 15 30
Kenny - -- 13 -- -- 13
Cam --- -- -- 25 05 30
BRob -- -- -- 10 -- 10
Andrew- -- -- -- -- 00
Rush -- -- -- -- -- 00
Total - 40 40 40 20 140

Great idea for a thread, got me thinking and excited to see what Roy's gonna roll out lineup/mpg wise this year. Just from looking it over a few times- I could see something like this. I went a little further putting in the PF and C for it. I put an * by Robinson because I feel like he'll be ready for more minutes for us this year and is ready to make a big impact. Also, felton will definetely be fighting for more minutes, could def see him in the 20-24 mpg range, if not more when we go small and if he's playing like the star we know he can be. Let's keep remembering he is Raymond "the National Champion" Felton's nephew.
Go Heels!!

I wouldn't mind until about mid way through the ACC season (unless a game is close) that Joel averages around 25 minutes a game so he's fresher for his final run and that gives 7th and Jalek more time to develop. If Berry gets hurt, like turns an ankle, we aren't going to have someone like Nate come in.

I wouldn't give Pinson any time at SG. Kenny plays all his time there with BRob, Seventh, and Jalek getting the rest. If Berry gets any time at SG like has been suggested by him and coach when we get late in the shot clock he has the ball in his hand. Nothing annoyed me more than when him and Nate were both on the court he deferred to him which normally didn't end well.

Pinson starts a SF and moves to PF when we go small unless Cam can actually defend PFs, but we do know Pinson can because he has in the past and he's gotten stronger this year so that should help. BRob and Cam back up SF.

I assume Brooks wins the final starting spot so Luke starts at PF with Pinson and/or Cam getting minutes here.

All of Brooks time comes at center. Maye gets minutes when we go small. Manley gets more minutes than Huffman. I have a feeling that since Huffman is so physical he ends up fouling a lot which hurts his minutes.

By seasons end we're playing a lot of small ball because of how effective it is. There's going to be a lot of spacing, so there's plenty of lanes to get into for Berry, Seventh, Jalek and Pinson. Opposing defenses will help leaving guys like Cam, Luke, Kenny and BRob open. We rebound by committee and play tough defense and like Marcus Paige said we'll be back in the Final Four.

We are so stacked at the 1 through 3 positions. Arguably the best back court in the country. If we can get adequate to average play out of our 4 and 5 positions we should be fun to watch
