I did not see a thread on UNC wrestling given we are in the Top 25 again this season and just recently upset Top 10 VaTeck.
I believe we have 6-8 guys that will be ranked going towards the NCAA championships. I watch the NCAA championships on ESPN each year a lot now. I remember when we hosted the NCAA championships back in the 90s and TJ Jaworsky won his 3rd ncaa title in the Dean Dome and all the fans cheered, even Iowa fans. 😁It was cool seeing the Iowa and OK State fans in their sections...now Penn State is on the scene.
UNC wrestling did pop up twice in the movie Unstoppable about the 1-leg 2011 ncaa title winner Anthony Robles. Two scenes had UNC wrestlers vs Anthony Robles and vs Robles' enemy the 2-time champion Iowa wrestler....gotta figure some UNC grad in Hollywood snuck in the Carolina Blue into the movie.
I highly recommend going to UNC wrestling matches and watching Unstoppable.
