He lied to the FBI about contact with Russians during the campaign. My initial statement was that the investigation established the connection between Russians and the trump campaign. He was part of that campaign.
We can make a few basic assumptions.
1. Georgie lied for a reason. He wouldn't risk perjury without a good reason for doing so.
2. Trump probably knew about it. This is a major player in his campaign, and there's really no reason to think that GP was just some rogue agent acting on his own behalf.
We know that Russia meddled in our election, and we know the Trump campaign had contact with Russian nationals during that time.
We also knew that Trump fired Comey, which he admitted was because "of the Russia stuff." That alone is evidence of obstruction of justice.
The people who think Trump is completely innocent would 110% feel differently if it were Obama's foreign policy advisor who had illegal contacts with Russian agents.
Regardless of any spin from pro-trump poasters in this thread, this looks bad for trump. I'm well aware of the fact that it will have no impact on his base. They didn't care when they heard the tape of him bragging about sexual assault, they didn't care about him shafting contractors and small businesses, or abusing bankruptcy laws. They didn't care about him dodging the draft, and insulting a dead veteran who was a POW. They won't care about this. He really could shoot someone on fifth avenue, and some of you genuinely wouldn't give a damn. This is how democracy dies. When people sell out principles in favor of a cult of personality. Maybe our institutions are strong enough to prevent that. But make no mistake, this is exactly how it happens.
